When is Wemby ready to be their version of SGA?
Are Fox/Castle/#2 ready to be Chet/JDub/Dort?

If the iron is hot to nab a star they need to. If that is now, next year or 2 years…so be it. I think Spurs need to lean into sooner rather than later.

If Wemby stays healthy he’s probably in the MVP running this past season. His team likely drags his chances down but I’d have him as a top 5 player if he finishes out the season. Then you add Fox (all-star level player).

If you have a team with:

MVP level player
All-Star 2nd banana

That seems like a team that is ready now.

If Wemby stays healthy

…and back to the elephant in the room I mentioned.

Wemby is fine. He has not had any legit basketball injuries thus far. The DVT was a freak, random thing and he's fine now (if he wasn't, he wouldn't be flying all over the world during the summer). Not worried at all about his longterm health

Well you would be different than Spurs organization and every other 7’3+ player to ever play in NBA. Wemby longterm health is a water is wet discussion. Because it is a real thing. How much of a real thing is the only debate.

i gotta be honest, im not really a fan of how this spurs teams has been put together. lucked into wemby and then lucky again for #2. but i guess sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. they needed old man cp3 just to be decent.

This is what I would be doing if I was the Spurs rather than giving Fox an extension. Wemby, Castle and Harper is a great start and no one there to mess up the cap sheet. Fox should get you another high draft pick in this draft.
