The Buss family has owned the Lakers for 46 years, during which time the Lakers have come to be the Rock of Gibraltar around which the rest of the League was built. One hell of a return on Dr. Buss' initial purchase price of the Lakers, LA Kings and the Forum for $67.5 million back in 1979. The buyer appears to be some sort of hedge fund bull $hit artist who was already a minority owner in the team. All of this begs the questions - (1) While Curry is still under contract, what are the Warriors currently worth? and (2) Given such a valuation, could Lacob be tempted to sell and make a 20 times return on his initial purchase price of $450 million?

What kind of superficial dimwit are you? You express a concern for $hit on a San Francisco sidewalk, yet you praise the brutal underbelly of life in Singapore. Reality is that Singapore is a backwards authoritarian state that still utilizes the draconian method of caning as punishment for even the most minor of crimes. In this way, Singapore keeps its people "in line."

The practice of caning is, in fact, in violation of the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) declaring that "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment." Additionally, multiple international organizations - including Amnesty International - have referred to the practice of caning as "torture."

Here's what caning looks like in practice. The punishment - which may be inflicted for "crimes" as minor as smoking pot, graffiti, minor vandalism and/or improper disposing of chewing gum - amounts to a barbaric, bloody and brutal beating within an inch of the victim's life. State employed "doctors" oversee the process. Inmates overhearing the screams of the victims commonly lose their appetite to eat. When victims lose consciousness during the beating, the "doctors" step in and revive the victim so that the punishment may continue until completed. Mutilation is a routine lasting result of the practice as are long-term physical disabilities for the victim. Worse still, the public reaction to canings in Singapore has been described as ranging from fearful to discuss the matter to zealously in favor of the practice.

Curry is big part of it, but you seem to forget that the CULTURE has changed for the better (aside from the other attractive things in playing in the Bay Area). The Warriors are are destination franchise because players know the expectations of the franchise. As long as Lacob is owner, I expect good things to happen. It happens from the top down. Look at the Wizards, look at the Warriors before Lacob, etc. Competitive players want to play for teams that are serious about winning, and Lacob always is, which is why I respect him a ton.

We have Lacob, Kerr, etc. Maybe Draymond and Curry will stick around with the franchise in the FO after they retire to keep that culture going.
