So we got to find a way (3 team deal) to turn RJ + IQ + 9th into Durant + Nick Richards + 29

Then we have this roster
Barnes/Shead
Ochai/Dick
Ingram/Walter
Durant/Mogbo
Poeltl/Richards

With more depth coming from picks 29 and the second rounder. Ngl… on paper this looks enticing

Not when you factor in that Scottie isn't fast enough to guard any guards, and that Ingram & Durant are both injury risks, and thus, we'd be fortunate if either play more than 60 games.

Then the Mammoth in the room ..in a win-now-mode, is it really responsible to entrust Darko with this? 55 wins and 109 losses coaching record

Do we have the mle available? If we move IQ I wouldn't mind running out the Davion/Shead tandem at pg

The answer is an emphatic F NO

Darko is one of the worst coach in the league

If we got KD we would give Darko a chance to start the year out and if Masai feels a change needs to be made we prolly fire Darko and Hire a more playoff win ready coach.

remember the mle is also treated like an exemption so we can trade for someone into it.

Powell on the suns makes no sense.
They need a PG or C.

IQ + Poeltl allow the Suns to stay competitive along with Booker + Beal.

Booker has played PG in the past and did so relatively well. The real issue with Booker/Powell is, barring rerouting him to a 3rd team, their defense will be untoasted buns.

Yeah this is the other hangup I have about trading for KD, Giannis or whoever. Yeah coaches are replaceable and whatnot but you're entering into Year 3 of Darko and it's an open question if he's really the guy for us when we're truly competitive.

I am...dubious of that given he's made some very questionable rotation choices in non-tanking games but at the same time he's also working with a lot of young, inexperienced players trying to execute very complex offensive systems.

I have a tough time seeing that we can get anything of quality from a RJ/IQ trade though.

Like I said in previous threads, absolutes are absolutely invalid.

Additionally, RJ would be an ideal 6th man on our current team with Ochai moving to the starting lineup. If RJ develops his shot and passing acumen further - a distinct possibility because he’s young enough to - he’s firmly a starter and we will be winning, in earnest.

7th year player btw.

Wrong section to be looking at.

We only have access to about 477K of the MLE (the exact amount for the taxpayer MLE eludes me but we would have access to that) before we cross over into luxury tax territory. Accessing the MLE in any greater capacity requires us dumping players.

You can’t use the non-taxpayer MLE if you going to exceed the first apron because using it hardcaps you at the 1st apron. According to this cap sheet we are 500k into the tax and with the unlikely bonuses of Yak, RJ and IQ, we are very close to the 1st Arpron. This is one of the benefits of trading IQ and RJ because their unlikely bonuses count toward the hardcap whether realized or not.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Ishbia has no balls if he bends over like that

It is not in his hands. From every rumour i read, Wolves and Raptors had the best offers so far. It wont get better as teams rather drop out of the negotiating than up their offer.

He can do the Toronto one. Only Minny is pulling back. But choosing to bend over to KD's demands to take a subpar package isn't the way to go, especially since they plan on keeping Booker
