Demar DeRozan 'Widely Perceived' As Being Available In Trade

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jun 19, 2025 5:58 am

Demar DeRozan is "widely perceived" around the league as being available in a trade, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line and Jake Fischer of The People's Insider.

The Kings, who have no first-round pick in the upcoming draft, have been expressing confidence to agents that they could be picking somewhere in the 20s.

DeRozan could also be an option for teams who miss out on trading for Kevin Durant

It was reported last month that the Kings could evaluate their options with DeRozan under a new front office.

Available? I think they’d give him away if they could.

Would love to see him in Toronto for his farewell tour but it’s too early

No they wouldn't. He's currently the 78th highest paid player on the books for next season and that's before free agency. I would take DeMar over at least 30 players that currently make more than he does. He isn't perfect and his contract reflects that.

He shouldn't be part of their long term plan, but they also shouldn't be trying to dump him for nothing. He has value. (I couldn't pretend to know what those nutballs in SAC are actually thinking!)
