His per 36 stats says that he is a great ofensive rebounder and poor shooter (bad FT numbers)

Do the Knicks still have his rights?
Does this mean coming over for summer league etc, seeing if he can make the Knicks?

Only the first season of this group together playing against teams that have had multiple years together to develop chemistry.
If the coach was holding them back as much as some of you seem to believe then why the hysterics and desire to change it all up once again instead of let the core develop even more.
Team is very very good but they need at minimum to deal with the C position to give it more defensive stability.
Also if an opportunity presents itself to improve the team do you ignore it saying nah we are good enough as is? Those are the two key components here....
No one said don't try to improve the team when opportunity knocks. You're in here looking to trade away core players for guys who aren't available or a lesser package because Mitch. We're saying why? If the next HC wants to blow it up, that's a different story though but, the FO committed a lot of assets and money to build this team. It's safe to say they aren't gonna break it up one year later. They fired the HC because he couldn't make it work. Pretty sure they're looking for a HC that can.

It's a few things
- Is KAT a great enough player to overcome his flaws on the defensive end?
- Can Brunson also overcome his defensive flaws?
- Are OG and Mikal still young and athletic enough to defend at the highest level? If there are younger, more athletic, and more physically gifted players than them now, do OG and Mikal have the smarts and experience to overcome any level of disadvantage on that end.
- Has Josh Hart played so beyond his abilities that he has overloaded his knees? Can he overcome his fear of shooting when left wide open? Can he still improve his game or is he at his absolute best at this point and is it only downhill for him from here?
- Do our rookies Dadiet, Kolek, and Hukporti have the talent to become legitimate rotation players in their 2nd year? Or were all 3 of them busts?
- Do Deuce and Mitch have another gear left in them, or have we already seen their best at this point?
- If one more year makes our team better, can't the dame be said about most rosters in the league, especially ones with younger players than ours?
We got 6 days until the NBA Draft. We should hire a coach before then. A lot of the questions we have will depend on whether the coach we bring in believes in this current roster, or if we need to make moves to fit the coach.

Is Morris retired retired? We should still sign him to get another PJ leadership voice in here.

"Better player" doesn't necessarily mean better team because of the cost to get that player might make a lesser roster but these trade machine addicts seem to think they know the outcome. How many of the people who were jizzing themselves over the prospect of trading R***** for KAT last summer are now saying we need to trade KAT for someone else? It's a never ending lust for something else.

Some are just wanting change for the sake of change. But change that improves the team when there are some areas of weaknesses is usually a good thing....
For instance, I am not proposing KAT in almost any trade barring Giannis( even then the preference is Mikal converted to picks and then sending out Hart and Mitch and whatever few picks we have left).
Almost every trade scenario is not including our top two but with the intention of solidifying the defense around those two with either an elite two way player (O and D) or an elite defensive player. Offense is not the issue with this current roster. The fatal flaw is not having the right type of defenders to best complement the defensive deficiencies of Brunson/KAT .
There is a reason reports said the front office sees JJJ as a dream pairing with KAT. Its because of age, better durability than Mitch, and how perfectly he would counter-balance KATs defensive weaknesses in the frontcourt. If that costs one of Mikal or OG the net will absolutely be a positive and it wouldnt entirely blow up the core either.
Short of that, I dont hate other trades for Mikal+ if they bring ENOUGH value back that the roster construction i.e overall team is better than before. Kind of a minimum threshold to me for Mikal would be a Kessler/Jabari Smith combo as I absolutely believe that makes us better. Mitch almost never plays more than 30-40 games thats just a reality at this point. Too much risk to assume he csn make it through next season AND he is on his last year.
