After trading Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic, it's natural to wonder what's next for the Memphis Grizzlies. One path the Grizzlies won't take is trading for Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns.
Memphis had interest in a Durant trade last season, when the Suns made him available at the trade deadline. This offseason, the Grizzlies have no interest in trading for Durant.
The Grizzlies are expected renegotiate-and-extend the contract for Jaren Jackson Jr. this offseason. Memphis will then retool the rest of the roster around Jackson and Ja Morant.
Durant has set his list of preferred teams as the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets and Miami Heat. Phoenix has engaged with other teams, most notably the Minnesota Timberwolves, but Durant reportedly made it known he didn't want to be traded to Minnesota.
