Watching Jalen Williams dominate in these finals, you just know someone will go for it.

Probably Oubre with Maxey and Grimes. He’s the longest dude and defends pretty well.

McCain, Edgecombe, and Edwards is the right amount of length and defense for the second team.

I assume they'll start him to begin the year, if for nothing else than to showcase him for a trade. He's our best salary filler for any midseason deal.

But if this team is serious about winning he can't play big mins. His terrible shooting consistently craters our offense, regardless of his effort on D.

If we get VJ or Tre do we even resign Grimes?

How much do you think Grimes is getting? I don’t see him getting starter money. That would be over $20mil per.

Grimes is definitely starting, regardless of whether he gets $15m or $20m/yr.

Grimes haters and naysayers better get their licks in now. He was damn good last year and will be a very valuable starter for us.

The offense should go through Maxey and Grimes going forward.

Crazy thing is, if Grimes were drafted by us people would be calling him an up and coming star.

Funny how that works.

Definitely. Grimes will be a valuable asset once resigned. No chance we let him go unless the Nets decide to MAX him out.

Oubre should be capped at 15-18 minutes a night for max effectiveness. If he’s not ok with that, he should sit until a trade can be consummated.

Sounds a bit ambitious. I see right outside of the top 10 though. Same type of rise that Cam Johnson got.

Well im kinda bummed, since i wanted Ace, but let´s hope, for once, that we get luck and VJ or Tre( or maybe we get Harper) becomes an allstar, while Justin Edwards turns to be a better player than Bailey. 8-) I´m pretty high on Edwards, and can see him maybe taking the starting SF position of Oubre, until the end of season.

He's horrible, but he's the only real athletic wing we have.

Would almost rather prefer to size down, play VJ or Tre at the 2 and Grimes at the 3, but we probably need that size. Which also means George at the four, mess.

The drawbacks of a gifted athlete wing lacking all basketball feel, passing or shooting... Sounds familiar. It's a liability in actual game setting.

Covi_Marsh wrote:With all these rumors about moving up to two, would they even be allowed to announce that if Spurs did accept it? We owe OKC our 2026 pick. We can’t trade the 2025 pick. So we would have to trade a drafted player. Would Shams even waste his time announcing that we have an agreement to move up to 2? Wouldn’t that be against league rules some how?

Most of it is just technicalities anyway, as they would report the trade, even though it wouldn’t go through until after the draft. However, I don’t believe it would apply to the current year pick anyway. I’ve read the Stepian Rule is only meant to apply to future picks. I’m not 100% clear on it though.

He should go back to being the sixth man. Starting Edwards with PG Grimes and Maxey (and whomever at C) seems good. McCain is second off the bench.

Ace holding a grudge against the city because he was justifiably asked to work on fatal flaws in his game? Yea, I found his daddy.

VJ and Thiero in the same draft would be such an enormous injection of athleticism into the roster. A second unit with VJ, Thiero, and Bona would be electric - a bunch of high motor freak athletes running amok.

It would be exciting until they try to hit a shot. Then it will be brick city.

Who needs to shoot when you can just dunk everything?

Don't buy into the paranoia DisgrAce FC are trying to spread on VJs name. Constantly lying about his height, his age and now undermining his shooting prowess.

His historical FT numbers + the fact that he was launching 8+ a game per 100 poss at Baylor are the most clear and obvious predictive indicators of a next level shooter.

He's in the next tier after the certified elite guys like Kon, Tre & Kasparas. Similar to Flagg. Superior to Harper. And like five tiers clear of Bailey and that loaded musket animation.

VJ in Charlotte between Lamelo and Brandon Miller is a god-tier fit. Not surprised.

Can we assume the guy who doesn't want to play with LaMelo is Ace?
