Just saw that someone robbed a Nintendo Switch 2 semi for $1.4M worth of consoles.

My immediate thought is a much more portable version of The Machine from Person of Interest.

I have to echo this. I game mostly on my PC, but wanted a console for NCAAF 25. Had owned PlayStations for the last decade (was an Xbox kid tho), but decided on the Series X and IMO it’s just better. The controller, Gamepass, even the looks.

What do you mean "even the looks"? Like, graphics are better on XBOX?

No I just meant the aesthetics of it. Which is funny because mine is not even visible in my basement. I just don’t love the PS5 looks as much.

I should add, I’ve owned both. And both still collect more dust than my PC, but I play my Xbox more.

Gamepass is different. It’s an additional charge, like $10-15a mo and gives you access to tons of game.

PlayStation plus, at least what I remember, gives you access to a few free games each month.
There are different tiers of PlayStation Plus and the two higher tiers are more akin to Xbox Game pass, but I can't really speak to differences in the libraries or price because I personally am not interested lol

The Gamepass offering is still substantially better. The second tier of Plus is decent - read: not good, but decent - and the top just adds classic games from a very incomplete catalog. The games they add monthly to all tiers are medicore-to-trash 8/10 times at best.

I am a lifelong Sony/Playstation fan. I've had every console back to PSX at launch. I still think they make by far the better exclusives, but it's not worth it overall IMO. It's possible today, but the console to deliver me easy access to my Steam (and presumably Gamepass) catalog in the next gen will win my money.

They'll probably all get bricked.

I don't know why I always get skeptical of Nintendo but after watching the Donkey Kong Bananza direct, the game looks awesome.

I had pretty high hopes from the developers of Odyssey but it looks even better than I had hoped. Like the exploration of that game mixed with RPG elements, some minecraft and Donkey Kong staples.

So sad because I love Donkey Kong but I will never buy a Nintendo system again.

Are you playing the remaster? 10 is one of my favorites and arguably the best entry in the series(I prefer 9,6, and 7 to a lesser extent) even 10-2 aged better than I remember. 10 is one of the most emotional stories finally fantasy has ever put out and there’s so much to do if you want to grind for weapons, blitzball, etc

Yep! Remaster on PS5, we’ve just reached the point where we could go back and get Jecht’s spheres/recordings which was a nice bit of character development.

Let me know your thoughts as you go through/finish! Truly one of my favorite memories as a kid.

Saw yesterday that EA's exclusive license for Madden/NFL is up this year. Makes sense why Madden looks unreal.

Hoping someone else get a chance

Hadn't checked in on the latest Madden before now.

Yea, that does look pretty incredible. Now just hope there's a substantial overall to Franchise mode.

Picked up Mario Strikers Battle League and it's pretty fun. I don't see myself pouring hours in solo, but I have a big friends golf outing with 8 guys all staying in the same house and we can't wait to play 8 local player battle games.

Not sure what I was doing, but had a few beverages with the boys yesterday. Logged on to slickdeals.net and saw the 42" LG C4 4K OLED was on sale for $699 (plus 10% off with Chase Amazon card) and bought it. Came today so I said **** it and opened it. Currently rocking it and then 2 vertical 27" 2ks on each side. It's beautiful, OLEDs are insane. My first one. I wonder if it's too big for gaming, I do sit about 36" away so it helps. That said, no way could I ever do that Samsung Ark 2 55" curved. I'll send a pic of it soon.

Those Madden updates sound impressive. How long before actual sports are affected by real time AI analysis?

I never for a second thought that Death Stranding looked like a good time, but the sequel actually looks like fun, I think?

Death Stranding is the wildest game I never should have enjoyed but loved the hell out of. I'm still only about 60% sure I understand what happened, but I will play the second one because I'm a chump who doesn't value his own time.

Farming Harbingers is what I imagine crack cocaine is like. I've been doing it since the atlas tree was introduced and I cannot get enough of it.

So yeah, do I need to play the first death stranding to have any clue about what’s going on in the 2nd one? Probably, right? Kojima games are weird and confusing enough already.

I’d read the two wikis and play the second for what sounds like much, much more fun gameplay. Kojima’s stories have been total nonsense for 25 years.
