Report: Miami Heat have done ‘extensive homework’ on Ben Saraf

International basketball prospect Ben Saraf just recently declared for the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft. The Israeli guard informed ESPN of his career move on Friday.
According to Greg Sylvander of Five Reasons Sports, Saraf is a player that the Miami Heat organization is already quite familiar with. Allegedly, the Heat have done “extensive homework” on Saraf with the start of the 2025 NBA Draft still a ways away.

“I’ve heard the HEAT have done extensive homework on Ben Saraf,” Sylvander wrote on Thursday.

Saraf could very well get selected in the first round of June’s draft. A recent mock draft from Bleacher Report has the Minnesota Timberwolves drafting the youngster with the No. 17 overall pick.

A player Miami couldn't bring in for a workout if they wanted to bc he's still playing in the German League finals.

Been calling him skinny Beasley for a while. Tunnel vision black hole ball stopper. Def some great tools tho.

Used to be consensus #3, but I've had him closer to 10 range since mid-season. I def haven't kept up on the nuance of updating top part of big board once Miami was out of lotto contention tho.

I wish he had Beasley's talent. He'd be incov for the first pick. Beas had HOF level talent, but the worst mentals possible. Hopefully Ace ain't that big of a mental case.

If Ace Bailey had a crazy Shaduer Sanders like drop to 20, how ok would you guys be with the Heat taking him? Especially in a post Winslow world?

I think its more fun to think about. All that supposed value. I dont think hes a bad player but probably not the fit we are looking for.

Id rather go with a guy like Saraf whose skillset and competitive makeup are desirable.

Personally I think Ace is more MPJ than KD or McGrady. A great shooter and shotmaker like that would be great on the Heat but the problem is getting him the ball.

If he drops that far it’s because of huge red flags that probably suggest we pass too. Don’t take players you don’t work out, scout, or interview. Booker would be on the Heat if we just followed that mantra.

He's def not Beasley. But, my red flag with him is he shares the same deficiency as Beasley for playing a team game.

I first joined this board to dive further into that 2008 draft with the Heat having top odds at the number 1 pick.

The things Beasley did in college were on the level of KD and only matched by a player like Zion. Looking back at his profile now, the A/TO ratio was def a red flag that proved very real. Ace got that blackhole game.

Maybe he's got better mentals to overcome it and adjust to a NBA role.
