bishnykfan wrote:Ok, couple of things before I start looking through PMs and updating transactions. First off, this rule proposal was not made by me. I don't disclose who submits rule proposals but I'm pretty confident, based on the discussion, it is clear who submitted this proposal. Next, for anyone who was not aware of the deadline for these proposals, it was put into announcements on May 22nd and June 8th.

Spoiler:

A few other items to think about as we approach the offseason. Please send in your vote for "Executive of the Year" via PM. All votes need to be sent in no later than June 1st. Start thinking about any rule change proposals as well. I will accept proposals from June 6-13.

Any rule change proposals need to submitted to me no later than 6/13.

The deadline was also posted in the main thread in the upcoming schedule section for over a week. If people weren't aware of it, it is not through lack of notice. As far as why we have a deadline...I feel it important to go into every year with an updated set of rules. Nothing should be changed mid season or even mid off-season which could change the way the game is played and create an unfair scenario unless there is something so egregious that it needs an immediate course correction. At this point, going into season nine, I think anything like that would've come up, so we have the window to discuss, propose and vote on rule changes before the offseason begins.

In this cycle, I had zero proposals by the deadline. The rule change proposal that was submitted for review for the league was submitted to me for the first time after the deadline and only after another request was denied. There was not the usual back and forth available for me with the GM where I could offer advice on how I would assume the league would vote based on my years of interactions with the 30 GMs. I allowed this proposal to be submitted late because I had not begun the new league year yet but there was no fine tuning. As for that, please do so on your own. My favorite part of BAF is the basketball discussion. I hate going through the post season, award season, etc with so little discussion on the board. I know the Knicks drew our attention away a bit this year but no one has ever said you as GMs couldn't discuss a rule change amongst yourselves and then bring it up for a vote during the window pre off-season after you word it the way the majority will vote.

As for this specific rule, I will not comment on it until the voting is complete so I do not influence any GMs votes. I will speak to it after it passes or fails.

100% agree we def can do the rule ideas on our own before the deadline for sure.

And you gave us the window prior to the rule submission deadline so that's on us as well.

I think as the GMs we should try to make some sort of "official" window for discussing rule changes prior to the deadline so that tweaks and all that can be made based off feedback. I totally agree with not being able to resubmit after a rules been voted on, it just sucks that 2 years in a row it seems like 2 good rule changes/ideas was well received in terms of the bones of the idea but just needed tweaks based off feedback from other GMs and now we're kinda stuck waiting til the following season.

I do also kinda like the All star break thing too that way rule ideas can REALLY bad hammered out ahead of time.

So it's on us as the GMs to be better about coming forward with rule proposals before the deadline so feedback and tweaks can be made before the actual official submission goes to you to be posted and voted on, that way the person proposing the idea will have already gotten feedback and can see if their idea is likely to pass or not.

I had zero interest picking past three in this draft. We got two more years of Hali on a cheap contract, and enough cap to make a formidable top 6 backed by some decent prospects.

The Milwaukee Bucks have hired Jose7 as VP of Basketball Operations. A huge coup for the Bucks, as Jose7 is a grizzled BAT vet and won a Championship in the final BAT as VP with Mecca before transitioning to BAF. When Mecca gives a ****, he's one of the greatest BAT/BAF players of all time.

The trade bug is present in Minnesota

Hated getting rid of Ivey. He was having an excellent year before the year-ending injury. He’ll be missed

LeVert is a utility wing that can either contribute or be a piece moved down the road. Expiring deal as well

Keyonte George is very intriguing. Inefficient but was on an absolutely horrible Utah team and forced to take some ridiculously tough shots. The upside is there to be a really nice offensive player in the league. At $24/2 it was worth the swing IMO

Hated giving up two of my three strongest assets. Think Keyonte is a bucket & is only 21 on a great deal. Caris super valuable wing,

But Jaden Ivey & Dylan Harper? Now we cookin' w grease. That's a super fun backcourt. We think Ivey has true All-Star potential based on last year's breakout prior to injury & will look to extend him as a priority this off season.
