You should be mad at the rest of the league then.

So confusing.

How is Indy winning without multiple top 5 draft picks from tanking?

Side note, JWill -40 tonight. What a difference from last game.

It was such common sense to either trade him with 1.5 years left on his contract or max him no question when he wanted to be here. Instead we got Masai calling him selfish publicly and then trading him cents on rhe dollar. Utter stupidity tbh.

Now let's hope we make Pelicans fans say the same thing about the Ingram trade next year lol.

They had 4 years to prove it to us! Best we got was a play in L and a first round exit.

If there was a way to have an all nba PG, historic depth and a max player while still being under the luxury tax, I would of loved for you to show Masai the way to get there.

Pacers were a +8000 to win the championship before the playoffs started lol let's be real nobody gave them a chance in hell of winning it all.

Sure but they got to the ecf the year before and had the best record in the east once Haliburton got healthy.

Where was the pathway for us to replicate that success? I’m seeing a lot of whinging but how do we get the talent and depth of the Pacers when FVV left for nothing, OG was on track to get paid 45M + a year and leave us for nothing too.

Where’s the pathway to building a team with depth with only 3 functional nba assets in Poeltl, Scottie and Siakam if we kept him.

Watching Siakam ball out all playoffs just confirms what we all already knew. Masai is absolutely cooked. He's a great drafter but that's about it, absolutely terrible at team building. We wasted all these years with FVV, OG, Siakam all on bargain contracts with Scottie on a rookie scale and Masai couldn't put a competent team/bench around them.

We withered away their prime years with no center as he wanked off to his 6'9 vision. No centers to speak of for nearly half a decade before it went off the rails.

I'm ready for Masai to go.

But if the offers sucked for Siakam, what do you do? You hold on and hope the value changes or the team changes....unfortunately it got worse.

On paper, we 100% should have been better than we played and had better results. That WAS a selfish year from Nurse on down.

I am happy for Indy as they are showing a "team" can do wonderful things.

Haliburton has to have swung from overrated to underrated. He's the life blood of these Pacers. I can't fathom how he's not getting his due.

Pacers are going to cause chaos to teams plans in the future. Showing that you can win in the modern nba without Multiple Superstars as long as you have great depth and two way players.

Orlando already made their move. Cavs will be next. Boston is going to look at Brown and take offers. Bucks are going try convince Giannis they can build depth, etc. etc.

And if they win, watch OKC say screw it. We tried depth now we going to go get a another superstar. haha poor GM's are going to be so confused on how to win.

p.s. Raps should go for depth

They needed a table setter. That was the biggest issue. The struggle ball era looked as it did because the half-court offense was garbage.

Also, they went 2.5 seasons without a real center, and one of those was the Tampa season. And as a matter of fact in their best season, 2021/2022, Precious was the starting center.

Masai didnt think Siakam was worth the max and yet he wanted whatever his price was with 1.5 years left on his contract. This is assuming he truly shopped him because Masai ended up trading for Poeltl instead so that doesnt sound like a guy who was truly in a sellers mode.

Like I said the whole time and also in my previous post, you either trade him or MAX him at that point. You don't let him enter his walk year, which is exactly why we got ripped the F off, since the other team only got 3 months of his services.

Mistakes were certainly made but we also gave up a lot of assets in order to win a Championship.

2018: No draft pick
2019: Dewan Hernandez (59th pick)
2020: Malachi Flynn (29th pick), Jalen Harris (59th pick)

Basically went 3 years without drafting anyone useful and that's tough to recover from especially when you add in Kawhi, Gasol, Ibaka all leaving for nothing.

It was always going to be difficult using up the assets we did for the Championship and then having guys leave for nothing. That whole "Team Mediocre" thing is more so just the point that you don't have to bottom out to win in this league.

Lmao, what you would’ve done then after we drafted Scottie?

What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Damn good stuff, at first it looked like OKC will just steamroll their way to the championship against the Pacers but Pacers have held their own.

Its an unpredictable team, with guys like Obi showing up, and no specific go to guy like Shai carrying the load.

I still think OKC takes game 7, because OKC just has that player that can single handedly carry the team towards a championship. The Pacers just don't have that, but if they do it will be an amazing story, with Pascal winning his second, Carlisle getting his second, and an entire team not expected to win this series at all.

Pacers did the unthinkable and made this a 7 game series. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised they take it!

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

We underestimate how hard it is to transition from a championship team to a retooling team.

Look at the Suns, Nuggets, Bucks, Lakers, us.

It’s incredibly hard to add depth and continue a revolving door of deep depth when you’re already near the luxury tax or above it while your former depth is aging out or getting siphoned out due to other teams overpaying for them.

Masai still knows how to build a team, I just don’t think he was going to do that with FVV/OG/Siakam and Scottie on the team. Would have taken miracles.
