The Lakers All-In Offer = ?? Austin Reaves, Dalton Knecht, 2031 Unprotected 1st and Expiring Contracts

Post#1 » by NYG » Fri Jun 20, 2025 4:55 am

If the Lakers offered:

Austin Reaves
Dalton Knecht
2031 Unprotected Lakers First Round Draft Pick

+ Any/All of the following:

Rui Hachimura
Dorian Finney-Smith
Gabe Vincent
Maxi Kleber

Who is the best player they would get in return?

Just skimming over the league... is Rudy Gobert a good answer? What portion of the Lakers assets would it take to land Nic Claxton from Brooklyn as a third team? Is Reaves/Claxton for Gobert worth it for Minnesota?

The lakers will take Jeremy Grant/Ayton and be happy.

All kidding aside, that would be an actually pretty good fit if not for the horrible contracts.

I really want to add Knecht and that first but i dont see a route for it.

I guess you want AD. But I don't want Reaves poor defense and streaky performance on a 30M per extension request Knecht is not suiting well for playoff teams facing OKC regularly. The only appealing asset is the pick. You need to find a third team to get someone who suit the Mavs.

LOL ... Take out Grant and you might have a deal.. I said Might. Laker fans feel like Ayton is a loser but don't realisse his on a tanking team and would be a great fit for Luka/Lakers - but as for Grant his a no show for Lakers.

Kessler/Collins Is the hot topic, both on realgm/youtube etc.

Will probably have to be; Rui/Reaves/Knecht/FRP/pick swap ... Just a Laker fan keeping things real as real as things can be.

It's over pay, but some times you have to over pay.

And b4 anyone says, Luka just last year took old man Kyrie along with PJ/Gafford/Lively to the finals.... Just imagin what he could do with Kessler/Collins OMG

Edit: some people say Kessler not a lob threat etc, but there's no proof of this you can't tell me that JC/Sexton and other Utah guards are good at lob passes compared to Luka, LOL. Luka will make Kessler/Collins look like allstars.

Also please take note. Lakers have stated that they're not willing to trade Reaves unless a "Top Tier Center Is Involved" I don't consider Kessler a top tier center, but If mods or others want me to prove this and why Lakers are targeting Kessler/Collins, I"m willing to do so (I follow a lot of Lakers on youtube), but it's all out there on youtube which is where I get most my resource from haha take that as you will. I'm also willing to start a thread on this topic if need, thanks in advance.

Reaves is worth Lively or Allen.

Reaves is worth Lively or Allen.

* Lively is not a "top tier center IMO" and I doubt Dallas would be able to deal with Lakers again - Reaves is worth more then lively.

* Allen is possible as Cavs are looking to get under the 2nd apron, they can't trade Garland as his injured, doubt any team will want him while injured and they will need Mitchell, they'll keep Hunter IMO. But if they're going to trade it will between Allen/Mobley, they have 2 choices, stay under the the tax and trade or pay the tax and go all in IMO - could be wrong, but we'll see.

I won't trade Lively for Reaves . Look at the playoff series, everyone know how negative Reaves is going to be. Not to mention the 30M per contract Reaves is asking for.

I think AD for Lebron is much better for both teams. The Mavs could start Flagg at 4 and Lebron at 3. Then let Lebron retire next season and extend PJ, Gaff and Lively next offseason. And LA gets an all star 4/5 combo for 3 years without moving future piece.

In my opinion Lively is a better fit, useful than Kessler when it comes to winning games in the Playoffs, he is much more mobile, Athletic and a better passer, .. I have the impression that Kessler can be easily taken off the court due to his slowness apart from the fact that it seems easier to negotiate with Nico than with Angie ... the problem with Lively is that he is very prone to injury and that could be problematic for the Mavs to negotiate again with the LAKERS, although it is also true that Nico definitely does not seem to give a damn about the Dallas fans

Reaves loves LAL, his in the media saying positive things and wants to be a Laker for life. Would'nt surprise me if this happens especially under new management anything though is possible and me saying this and what i've written above haha. He might even pull a Caruso and say "I want to play for less" and Lakers under new management might accept.

I would like both Lively/Kessler haha not going to argue here, you're a Dallas fan after all, but in saying that numbers don''t match for a straight swap - Reaves = $12 m ish off the top of my head and Lively is $5mil ish, Gafford around $13m Ish a striaght swap for Gafford/Reaves workds but not for Lively.

I have the impression that Kessler can be easily taken off the court due to his slowness apart from the fact that it seems easier to negotiate with Nico than with Angie ...

I don't think you realise how much Luka slows the game down for ez lob passes for Kessler/Collins he really slows the game down to his pace, which IMO can work wonders for other slower players like Kessler :)

Peace out Slim :)
