A lot of folks on social media are upset the Valks cut certain players. It is what it is. I'm excited for who is on the roster and learn some new players.

It's unfortunate but this is the nature of the business. Lots of good players have been cut over the last 72 hrs.

Yeah, it's just brutal.
For GSV, I thought the Amihere cut was particularly surprising.

It’s primarily Chen. I was surprised she was even drafted. I have a soft spot for the youngster as well having seen her Princeton team come in and roll my big fish in a small pond alma mater. Saw her score her 1000th career point which I didn’t realize in the moment. Then cool to see her go to the biggest name program and win the chip. But Satou’s comment was on point. The fans don’t have any real reason to be bent out of shape.

At the risk of being a party pooper, I have seen two published WNBA projections not pick the Valks to finish last. One had them at #11 and the other at #9. Ummm ... it would be an absolute shock if this team was not the league's 13th best.

I'm not buying. This version of the expansion draft was not very generous to the new squad, getting only a #5 pick (who won't even join to the team for at least another month, and who is something of a project) and whose star player is a 35 year old guard. I don't doubt that they will play hard, but professional basketball history is littered with teams that played hard and finished last, because the other teams in the league also played hard, and then also had stars.

Feel free to let me know at the end of the year if I am wrong.

its tough right away for expansion teams, unless another team just completely falls apart or is decimated by injuries anything above last place would be gravy

i wonder about the draft lottery formula, its a two year look back at winning percentage to determine best odds for first pick right? the valkyries will just have the one year, is it counted normally? are they eligible for the first pick in 2026? because that's probably going to be lauren betts isn't it? might be worth being terrible for a year

The Fever got its first victory of last year against the Mystics, too. But this win was a lot more impressive, because the Mystics have been playing well.

Tickets for games are as low as $17 if you buy re-sale a week in advance. Not too bad! Sometimes i see tickets in lower bowl for under $50 but they get swooped up quickly. Debating going today vs Lynx

Valkyries are now advertising tickets (not re-sale) in the upper, upper deck for $25. They’re calling the section the Crown of Ballhalla.

Good marketing. :)

Crown of Ballhalla, I like that. I saw a woman with a Valks 25 shirt walking in Manhattan today. Had to google ... Monique Billings. Hmmm, not sure that would be the team's best selling kit.

Wow, what a fun game for Valks' fans! Actually, I think that pretty much all home games are fun for the Valks. It seems like it doesn't even matter what players are available, Nakase has them balling. Thornton and Amihere looked especially good.

That franchise is a a blast.

Julie Vanloo cut after winning Eurobasket and found on upon her arrival back to the bay. Lot of uproar from WNBA fans on her treatment - her IG stories shows sadness and pain and i genuinly feel bad. But I wonder if Valkyries could have handled this better
