Lol, he did it again last night with amazing commentary in Portuguese. He was looking at Pascal the whole time but still did the no look spin when he was getting rid of the ball.

It looked cool, it added energy, so why are people complaining? This is the same kind of showmanship we saw from Magic. No one was bitching then...

What actual function does a 360 dunk provide? What function does the shimmy after breaking ankles provide? What function does turning away from your 3 point shot provide?

It really goes well before that. Most no-look passes start that way, as more mirage and showmanship than actually throwing the ball and praying someone's actually in the spot. Baylor used to do it, Cousy did it before him, Maravich did it... that's how the trick works.

tbh,, if the announcers and media stopped misscalling it a "no-look pass" i think you'd see less of it because,,,

its all for show and the players don't have the floor savvy to make a true no-look pass like bird and magic

Seriously, why does he spin around after his passes like this? What benefit is this providing outside of just making a normal pass in these situations? Spin passes only really make sense in significant traffic or being defended by multiple players and needing to pass in a tight spot. Looks like Halib just makes a simple pass to an open man, then spins after for nothing more than “style” (using that term loosely).

It gives me a chubb. That's the purpose

It would be one of Hali's super power if he were in Kuroko no Basket. I agree with the whole mental boost to teammates as a fan of Magic myself.

I'm not complaining but I do think it's silly.

Not many folks were whining back when Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Jason Williams (white chocolate), Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Rajon Rondo were doing this back in the days.

Why do people throw down a hard dunk instead of laying it in gently?

Why do players yell after a big bucket?? They should just turn around and run silently and stoically back down the floor.

the modern day no-look has gone the route of many things whose meaning gets distorted by hyperbole, and the media gettin' all fantazmagorical

i would put it right there with the 360

Yeah but those were actual no look passes.

These are passes where he’s looking right at the guys and then does a pirouette after.

I’m not hating because of the series I’ve long thought/said this specific display of showmanship was kind of silly.

Doesn’t mean he can’t do it. Players do all sorts of stuff like that. But please don’t compare to some of those no look wizards.
