No it's not a total crapshoot. The jays didn't win a game all 3 times. That's not a crapshoot, that's a medicore roster getting it's face fed to them predictably. Having the worst farm system in baseball and putting up a mediocre roster (again) is the sign of a terrible front office. This team isn't winning a round again.

Trolling isn't criticizing Masai. It's that Ed Rogers is 'turning this around' when the Jays have been incredible medicore and set to be bad for the next decade.

It’s a complete and total crapshoot in baseball, yes. It’s the nature of baseball in that kind of tiny sample. If it wasn’t, the Dodgers would literally win the WS every single season.

For yet another example, the 2015 Jays were one of the best teams this century and lost to a Royals team that wasn’t even close to their caliber because they played a 7 game series where David Price had a bad start.

If this year’s Jays make the playoffs, sure they’ll probably lose to the Tigers or someone else. But anybody can win 3-4 games against any other team in that kind of sample.

And MLSE as currently structured has given Masai this free pass to mismanage for 5 years. The fact that Ed is taking control shortly, a guy who we know has actually questioned the ludicrous contract Masai got, is every reason to hope we might actually get some change this time around.

This has to be e.d rogers burner account

Oh, I very much doubt that Ed writes like this. But with that kind of money, I suppose he doesn’t have to.

Gosh, Rogers has his people trying to shift the opinions on him and Masai on message boards now lol.

People on here were desperate for Masai to rebuild and trade Siakam, and literally two months ago everyone was acting like the trade was a win because he finagled Ingram out of it, and the pacers hadn't gone on their playoff run yet.

He had 16 point last night. LMFAO

& the lowest +/- in the starting lineup...
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.
The bad thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

I would suggest that anyone acting like that trade was a win for the Raptors because they later acquired Brandon Ingram has probably never watched Brandon Ingram play basketball.

Oh, I love the fact that the Pacers and Siakam are a game away from a title.

The real question though is does Masai?

Yeah, bizarre timing. I was hoping Shatkins would be fired before they got a chance to screw up another Jays draft.

But have all this chatter just before Masai & Co get a chance to exercise one of their principal superpowers is weird.

I'm sure Masai is very happy for Siakam personally.

You could see in the Siakam trade press conference how hard of a move it was for him to make.

By superpowers, do you mean trying to trade the pick away for a 37 year old rental player?

Masai would only do that if Rogers is forcing him to. Otherwise it's simply not going to happen.

Masai would only do that if Rogers is forcing him to. Oherwise it's simply not going to happen.

On the contrary, trading for a HOF talent rental player fits exactly what Masai's MO is and I expect it's a very real possibility.

Why are we even arguing about a trade that hasn't happened in a Siakam thread?

KD is still on PHX the last time I checked.

I think the issue is that if it was up to Masai, he wouldn't be any longer.

Masai's other superpower is acquiring top players for peanuts. That's been the whole strategy for the last five years since Kawhi left. We didn't just get BI - a much more complementary player to pair with Scottie - for Siakam. We also got Walker and Ochai and the cap space to acquire Mitchell along with #45 (Shead) and Portland's #39 (we'll see). Good deal.

Masai plays the long game. Shatkins plays the "let's just have competitive games in September before crashing out of the wild card" game to boost ticket sales.

Almost every GM would like to add KD, depending on cost.

The cost is the reason he hasn't been dealt.

Masai is a con man fam. He cried during the press conference and said trading DeRozan was the hardest thing he ever had to do in his life. The mans was trying to trade DeRozan for months and screamed and cried with tears of joy when the trade for Kawhi was consummated. Was hugging Bobby and cried in each other's arms overcomed with jubilation.

Do I give a **** if we win the title? Nope. He can be a con man, but if he's successful and we win, great.

We have 1 title in the last 30+ years in this city and we have Masai to thank for it. The rest of our teams have been garbage.

You can like someone personally, but also know you have a job to do and that trading someone is part of the job.

This is a business first.

You are excited at the idea of Ed Rogers having more power and conviction to fire one of the most respected and sought after sports executives in the entire world?

Absolutely. Nobody should get a free pass for their entire life to mismanage an organization as badly as this one has been this decade and Ed may be the only one with the guts to end that free pass.

Ed doesn't give any free passes out as we have seen with the Blue Jays
