I don't think there's a combo that can work without Poeltl, so not sure what Grange is smoking. We know he is completely shut out by the Raptors these days for his pro Ed agenda.

IQ + RJ
Or
Ingram+ RJ

Both will need a 3rd team

I think it's more likely that Grange is wrong here.

We’re not trading Ingram after playing 0 games for us. This is an actually well-run and respected organization.

I think its a pipe dream to think we can lose Poeltl and replace him easily. Poeltl can flat out play and he's underrated on this board.
The only thing that would convince me they trade him this off-season is if they are dead set on playing 5 out

Out of curiosity - Are you willing to pay Poeltl 30mil next summer?

Yes, it is still a very good contract that can be traded. People forget how much the cap is increasing.

That would actually be really good and ideal, and quite the feat to pull off. Need a 3rd team though, as Suns cannot take them both back due to salaries (nor would they want to with Beal and Booker still there).

To what end, though?

Losing those two for one year of KD which won't end in a title... and we do that because?

On the Suns forum someone posted a tweet that says you guys arent offering Peotl, just RJ/IQ and presumably #9.

That works for me personally as I'd rather get a vet PG here and draft a center at #9. Keeping Peotl also makes more sense for you as you'll need someone to play the 5.

Id do the deal, but it sends 60m to us, which we can't do unless we send Royce o Neal (10m) back.

Is there any move we can make that would end in a title though?

Poeltl/KD/Ingram/Barnes has a chance to win a round or two at least, and given the state of the east, you never know what can happen if they gel.

You'd have to add picks/prospects to this probably. But this core structure works from a cap perspective.

Despite what has been reported, I think one of Poeltl or #9 is not in our current offer.

ya it would be irresponsible to go after KD and lose Poeltl

Read on Twitter

Only realistic combination that works without Jak is IQ, Gradey, Ochai and Walter for KD. Other than that, would need some sort of multi-way deal.

Anyone know how a deal can even work without Poeltl?

Suns can't take back more than Durants salary and can't add players. IQ and RJ is more than What KD makes.

No Jak now?

RJ would be going to a third team I assume?

Never made any sense to give up Jak if we are shooting for a title with KD. Makes a hell of a lot more sense that we are offering IQ + RJ + a pick (#9) or 2026 + 2028 protected firsts

Presumably we would extend him as well. At his age, he would want the security of the extra 2 years. Assuming we aren't his preferred destination, we would probably get him to give the team a chance and if it doesn't work out and he wants to request a trade later, we move him to his preferred destination and recoup some assets back. Basically same as what PG did in OKC. All this is assuming he doesn't get injured or have his game fall off a cliff, both possibilities at his age of course.

It could be a 3 team trade. There may be a way to get more salary back and the re-route to PHX, no?

Only BK can do it and Claxton makes too much
