This "ratings games" championship is turning out to be the most exciting since 2019 (to me, because it was Toronto, obviously). I picked OKC for the first few polls, but for game 7 I'm going with Indy. I think it will be the miracle game for them and they will shoot lights out to overcome a phenomenal performance by Shai. Tyrese is stunned again when Pascal wins MVP. Turner with 6 blocks.

The only time I can ever remember a game 7 of the finals where the road team won, was Cleveland in '16.

The good news is there has never been a blowout win either, at least since 1984, not gonna bother checking before that.

Indy just needs to keep this a close game, all the pressure is on OKC to win.

2016 finals game 7: 93-89
2013 finals game 7: 95-88
2010 finals game 7: 83-79
2005 finals game 7: 81-74
1994 finals game 7: 90-84

It's been 37 years (Lakers/Pistons in '88) since a team cracked 100 in a finals game 7, kinda crazy.

I saw a stat that the last three times a team has been down 2-3 and won game 6 they also went on to win G7. 2016, 2010, and can’t recall the third.

Still can't believe Duncan isn't amongst the five Spurs on the floor here.

I think Indiana is always capable of getting hot, so you never know.

OKCs regular season profile screams historic team, but I’ve never viewed them as such. They have been deserving favorites but even with the 68 wins and the historic point differential I do not rank them among the top 10 teams I’ve seen in my life (been watching since 88). They’ve now been pushed to 7 by a couple of good but flawed teams. I do not think this OKC team beats last years celts, the 23 nuggets (damn near lost to the 25 nuggets) the 22 warriors, the 21 bucks, the 20 lakers. I think this years champ will be the weakest this decade thus far. Ring still counts the same but I just see this as a down year league wide

Welp, I said Thunder in 7 from the get-go. I wish I felt more confident in it. These are two bad ass teams, two bad ass coaches, and two bad ass fan bases. May the best team win.

Pacers just need to limit their turnovers and they should be fine. They are their own worst enemy with those sloppy turnovers.

I've said it before, winning it on the road in OKC against Thunder and the zebras was always going to be a tall order for the Pacers. Limiting turnovers against a team built on physicality and getting away with it on defense? That's the stuff champions are made of. Like if several pacers go supernova, it's possible. But I wouldn't bet on it

Ultimately, if OKC wins it all, they get credit for building a team to exploit the current rules to the fullest, but we don't have to like it. It's tough for the Pacers, but honestly, they've come as far as anybody could have expected and further

Indy just needs to keep this a close game, all the pressure is on OKC to win.

Last blowout loss in Game 7 of NBA Finals was way back in 1974. Celtics over Bucks

All the other ones since then have been close game 7s.

True about the pressure on OKC.
Indy playing loose with house money. Underdogs on the road.

Prior to the Cavs in 2016. The 1978 Washington Bullets (Wizards) were the last road team to win Game 7 on the road in NBA Finals at Seattle SuperSonics (now OKC Thunder).

That series was a heartbreaker :(
2013 NBA Finals.

But, we did come back the next season and got vindication. Spurs nearly swept Miami in 2014 NBA Finals. Blowout wins.
