Man, getting Durant and keeping Wiggins as a 3rd/4th banana is actually pretty interesting. Having an off-season to build chemistry... he left a bad taste in our mouth for sure but... hes a good player.

I don't know what we should do, don't know what people are worth etc.

But I do know that those saying we should turn to Utah and get players from Ainge because 'it will cost less', really have short memories about trades with Ainge.

I don't know how he does it, and I hate him for it, but he squeezes so many assets, especially picks, out of other teams. And he and Riley hate each other. I don't see how a trade for Sexton etc is any cheaper than the KD trades we are in now.

The offer probably looks something like: Rozier, Duncan, Anderson, JJJ, and the 20th pick.

A third team would likely need to get involved. Something along these lines:

Robinson (likely to be waived)

Heat:
Kevin Durant

Nets:
Anderson
Rozier


It looks like Riley is high on Ware and Jovic. For the Nets, taking on an expiring contract for a rebuilding team makes sense, especially if it lets them get out of Claxton’s three remaining years early. They might ask for additional draft picks.

If Riley can get this done without giving up Ware, Wiggins and Jovic then build his statue right away.

I somewhat disagree.
With Herro making 30M next two years, there's a window to add a player like durant and then derozan and give this team that window to compete with bam davion ware etc.

If they dont get Durant than adding derozan or anyone else is just a dumb asset losing lateral move. And should just let the young dudes play, trade for assets if possible, get a good draft pick next draft and have cap for 2026-2027. Doing that, you lose one of those Herro years making relatively small amount. I wouldn't understand the appeal of getting Durant next year if PHX for whatever reason trades him to a team he doesnt want to play for, unless we intend on trading Herro away, cuz a core of max herro bam durant isn't winning anything.

We competed with Jimmy multiple times did we not? I think Durant is better than Jimmy and fits alongside Bam better. Davion has been a great find. Herro had his best year yet and is improving YoY. The East is weaker than ever, granted Magic and Pistons are on the upswing while Bucks and Celtics are injured. I didnt say we'd be favorites or win it all, but the disbelief is weird.

Jimmy sabotaged the team last year. We should've tanked. But thinking adding Durant and Derozan and sending out JJJ Wiggins Rozier Duncan whoever else doesnt make us a solid playoff team is weird.

yes we did but also were in the play ins as well. we got closed with jimmy but i think that durant wouldnt have the supporting cast to do much. are the heat roster better than phoenix? they got just one more 1 than us last season

While I don't want KD, it would be kind of funny to miss out on him because they don't want to give up Ware only for Ware to find himself in Spo's dog house next season and not see the floor

1) Fat Erny can go suck on Jimmy's balls, he knows chit and he's a pathetic tool.

2) Hold firm with the Suns, you either get him in a bargain or we walk away. You simply can't overpay for a 37YO, don't care who it is or what he was 4 years ago. You pay for future production, not past one and not for name recognition.

3) Regardless we should explore another move and get Sexton and Collins out of Utah, shouldn't cost much and could help our miserable offense.

4) I'm very open to trading Herro if we can't extend him for around 30 per. This front office better have some foresight with Herro, because falling a sleep on the Jimmy situation and his extension killed us in a bunch of ways, so they **** better handle the Herro extension or trade a head of time.

We almost certainly won't overpay in assets, but we're doomed to overpay in salary and cap space for multiple years. We're stuck on stupid.
