Route the 31 UP first and Knecht to Utah for Kessler

Route Vincent and Wizards pick
S&T Precious and a 2nd for Larry Nance
Sign Brogdon to min

Draft Walter Clayton at 22

Mitch / Kessler / Hukporti
OG /Nance / DFS
Bridges / Pacome
Reeves / Brogdon / McBride
Brunson / Kolek / Clayton Jr

Nothing sexy but I feel like these pieces work better together and a much deeper team

We could get Reaves for Mitch’s value, why are are trading all NBA player for an awful backcourt defense ?

Markers for potential flood gates opening for news/trades:

1. Finals being over late Sunday
2. Draft on Wednesday June 25
3. July 1st (Alan Hahn talks about this date)

I would not be surprised if we hear two or more big trades going down in between Monday and Wednesday .

I can just about garantee you we are not giving up KAT for anything less than a top 20 NBA player.

The Kessler + trade that makes more sense would bring back things that would complement KAT in the frontcourt. Such as this one....

Image

C Kessler (28)/KAT (12)/ Huk (8)
PF KAT(20)/OG (18)/ Jabari (10)
SF OG(15)/Jabari (15)/ Hart (5)/MLE (13) - Oubre, Nance, Trent Jr
SG Divo (20)/ Hart (20)/ McBride (5)/MLE (3)
PG Brunson (34)/Divo (8) / McBride (6)

If you want to maiximize roster construction this is what it would look like...

*Kessler offers more durability and more dynamic scoring at the C position than Robinson to complement KAT

*Jabari offers a defensively versatile big with more mobility to play vs the 5 out teams that spread the floor and play with Pace.

* Hart plays the more appropriate role off bench as high energy guy.

*Divo in theory if he comes back like NYK Divo is a infinite range shooter who really opens it up for Brunson. Those two played amazingly together in a season that was short circuited by an unprecedented level of injuries that piled up.

*The 14 non Brunson minutes generally will feature KAT on floor as #1 option. This will help stagger them and they would only share about 18-20 minutes on floor together. Minimizing the defensive liability when both are out there same time. Part of the 18-20 minutes they share will also have Kessler or Jabari out there to shield KAT defensively in the front court.

* Great depth and defensive versatility in the backcourt as well as front court.

I think people are completely underestimating Kessler's worth at this point. What many suggest resembles what he may have cost 1-2 years ago but after averaging a double/double and being a strong defensive force and knowing you would be dealing with Ainge, it is inconceivable anyone could get him on the cheap.

First time in the trade thread?

We are going to make trades that bring in everything we need while we send out garbage. Or we are gonna target players not even on the market. How? It's magic!

Agreed. The trade worked out above is fair value for Kessler. We probably wouldn't get him for less than that.

Please no more fake trades. Just like stuff on actual news and rumors. We should make another thread for fake trades.

Every year I make this same comment. Keep the fantasy BS trades in one thread and ACTUAL trade talks/rumors in another. I have even made threads but, they get merged/locked or overrun with the fantasy BS NBA2k trades anyway.

The Suns drawing a line in the sand for return on KD is so stupid. He's 100% the type of player you don't want to get mixed up trading for without assurances, and expecting a huge return for him is crazy. Maybe they get it, but I would guess a Jimmy Butler type package is what they should be thinking of.

Meanwhile, Beal got his feet up drinking pink lemonade in the owners office telling them they can't do a thing about it.

The Raptors don’t want to include Jacob Poeltl in the Durant trade ? Now these teams are just being petty lol

I think the Knicks are still kicking the tires, but Dolan probably doesn't want him. I would think the Nuggets could try to get him as well, but the list of teams has to be so small that everyone involved is just pulling back assets.

No one wants to pay assets for a 38 year old injury risk with one foot in retirement. 54mil is a lot to pay for a rental.

i just don't know how we can make it work unless they're trading kat which it doesn't seem like. losing 2 or more rotation pieces seems like a bad idea.

I think they would’ve traded KAT for KD if Thibs was still here

jacob on a expiring deal is not exactly what i would call a prime asset

i guess he is their only center so they probably need him for the big playoff push after this trade

it's hard to say. some media types were saying the knicks are gonna make personnel changed and suggested it might be kat. i do think kat is on a short leash this year. if he's still giving that same level of defense with a new coach, i don't think he'll last here.

They explored the trade earlier, so there absolutely is a way to get it done. I think it would be KAT, but the center rotation of Mitch / Huk is probably giving them pause.

Realistically, with the coaching change they need to look at everything, whether it's KAT, Mikal, Hart or OG. Brunson is the only rock solid untouchable player.

you make that deal and you gotta sign capela to the mle or someone like that. i don't know what his market is.
