He wasn't good here, poor defender, tried fighting our coach, a pacer, took a shot at Brunson, and runs like this

he was good here though. nowhere near as good as randle, which is why he had no place on that version of the roster, but we should have sought a better package of assets for him. i understand it's ultimately his fault in that crashing out on the coach is why they were in a rush to give him away, even if for free. but crashing out on the coach is some other new york **** i enjoyed honestly and i'm a thibs fan lmao

You bring up a vv solid point. Wanting to beat up management is relatable and should be respected.

I just noticed we have 3 pinned threads on rules now. Disgusting.

This place is under Marshall Law right now. Its absurd. And posters want this?! And the fcked up thing is I bet if I looked at who and1 that declaration of military rule it would be the ones who were just as egregious(stated for dramatic effect, not actually true as no one is as wild) as meLo.

derailment in a post-game thread?

That should be a place to talk sht. Either cause we won or cause we're pissed off. Or someone has been harping on a shtty take and is wrong and needs to hear about. Ffs this is a sports forum. A knicks message board.

What are we even doing here :noway:

Longing is fine when you're rubbing it in the face of another. As in, Ball knowers are down preposterous amounts. Ball up top.

Have "ball knowers" ever had a correct basketball take?

Cuz off top I can think of at least 10 awful takes they doubled and tripled down on recently that have proven to be unequivocally wrong.

I think its a pretty simple concept to grasp. Derailment would be bringing up say a player that doesn't play for the Knicks anymore or that said player is not on the team we are playing.

the poster to poster beefs would go beyond actually discussing the actual game at hand and sometimes could go for 3-4 pages in a post game thread without actual basketball talk. We had enough people complain that they wanted to actual discuss the game but thought the the post game thread was being take over by trivial back and forths.

That is what this thread was created for. Have you individual beefs and leave the post game thread to go back and for about the game not about the poster.

Not sure if anyone already posted this, but if not, figured I'd sprint in here for the first time, drop the link, and then take off before Melos posts started making my phone smell like Jergens.

How easy is it to ignore that sht and talk about what you want though. Thats what I dont get. Like I ignore when Chanel and whoever are posting essays or anything clyde writes. I might pop off on em every once and awhile but I never wanted to silence them cause they deserve a voice here too. Its really easy to coexist and not cry over what someone else post. After a couple back and forths between meLo and Nodope I skim it. But not once have I felt the need to silence them. Or anyone for that matter. Not to brag im just cool like that.

And bringing up randle all year shouldnt have been a problem. He was an integral part of our team and moved for a major piece so comparing them all year should have been fine. Especially when 1 fan still really fcked with him.

Honestly sht is weak as hell that were rolling out all these controlling rules. Cant talk a lil sht in a post game thread about a current player when you fck with an older player more cause some fans are too soft about it. They cant scroll past it. Weird behavior. And tbh idgaf ill do it anyways. Just like you lose your sht on thibs in gamethreads. Its what we do here.

Its just some people couldnt handle meLo havign a weird obsession with a dude we all couldnt stand and they whined all year about it and now were here. They did the same sht with Chanel and his essays. If someone has a different opinion a few load people complain. And now im complaining about people complaining and im too cool for that sht.

Its actually a lot harder than you think. Like I said...it wasn't one or two posts. It would go on for pages and pages. And obviously you don't feel that way but its very off putting to a lot of people who may have wanted to contribute but felt like and actual post about basketball would be drown out by the constant non productive banter. Like sure everyone gets a laugh out of some of the beefs but it was like groundhogs day around here. You basically new everyone comebacks word for word/bar for bar. I don't think you understand the sheer volume of some of the trolling. You mention like those long essays that is like one post every once in a while. Its a big difference. Like sham has said in the past there is a art to this. Some people have it, some people don't.

This is just the way it is man, I don't know what to tell you, it was went unchecked for so long that it became a problem whether you want to admit it or not. Your constantly pushing back on mods is odd to me. Nothing has changed for you. But you just telling people deal with it seems weird. Like why do people who actually enjoy coming to the board to talk hoops have to dance around the incessant trolling? This place is for everyone not a select few.

Now the select few get to have there back and forth in there own silo without any pushback from mods or running rampant over multiple threads. And it wasn't just Melo even though you keep singling him out.

Listen the goal here is to basically make awareness that it wasn't working. We are trying our best to fix it without completely overhauling what also makes this place good. Friendly jabbing is part of that and the goal here is to hopefully get to a place where we can pull back a little. Do you really think we want extra work, reading and handling a bunch of more reports/complaints? Of course not. The hope is during the slower offseason we get back to an understanding of what is good faith back and forths and what is derailing/trolling and making people not want to participate in the forum.

Well said MPH. I don't think anyone wanted it to come to this, there was ALWAYS some level of trolling/fun jabs/beefs on the board, but it became like the main focus of the board and simply because unfun to read/be around all the time. It also just got tiring when people would just make stuff up about other posters whenever they were 'losing' an argument, or when it was time for them to eat a little crow every so often.

I hope we can find the balance again so that you guys can pull back and not have to worry about it going too far into the trolling side of things again.

Honestly when this thread gets popping properly it's entertaining and that's what I hoped for. There's nothing wrong with the Team this and that shtick, in fact it's funny and light and fun, it just doesn't belong everywhere.

I think the biggest challenge with derailment issues is the board itself. This forum is like year 2000 technology. I'm on a Discord forum with some buddies and whenever we start multi quote chains about some BS the forum itself is like "hey you're talking about some BS do you want to make your own subthread for this" and sets it up automatically if you do. So a Thibs fight would be a subtopic of a post game thread and team villain stuff would etc and it would be easy to parse out what you want to talk about. Here, when topics derail you just get a wall of text that has nothing to do with the topic and it's tough to find stuff that you want to see. Discord, of course, is newer and it's tough to retrofit older tech to meet these challenges and I'm not sure the funding is still there.

This thread and similar recent efforts are mostly about making the best use of the tools we have as it doesn't allow organic side conversions their space.
