That would be a very fortuitous draft for the Celts and zero chance of it happening...

I see Walter Clayton Jr. has been invited to the NBA Porn Room, so he's definitely, most likely, not going to be available to the Celts.

The draft is 2 nights?

The NBA is in for a ride awakening. Id eliminate the second round entirely if I was in charge.

With the possible issues with our FA big men, if I were Brad, I take the best two big men available. I would like to see Raynuad and Kalkbrenner picked if available. I fear we are going to lose possibly two of our big men out of Porzingis, Horford and Kornet.

Whoever Boston drafts will not play... But yes you have to go with pf or c in draft.

He measured better than TJ McConnell and Payton Pritchard and those guys are valuable players in spite of their size.

TJ Measurements: 6' 0.5" barefoot - 6' 2" - wingspan - 188 lbs - 8' 0.5" standing reach
Pritchard Measurements: 6' 0.50'' barefoot - 6' 4'' wingspan - 205 lbs - 7' 11" standing reach (some sites list weight at 195lbs)
Jase Measurements: 6' 0.50'' barefoot - 6' 6'' wingspan - 178 lbs - 8' 2.50" standing reach

I can see why some people wouldn't want him based on size and lack of PG skills, and Brad really does not seem to like small guards on principle. But I wouldn't hate him as a pick, especially if we are making 2 or more picks (if we add draft picks in a trade).

Better length measurements than Christian Braun and Andrew Nembhard iirc neither of whom are PGs either.

Nah, both are quite a bit taller. Andrew’s brother in this draft is shorter though, maybe that’s what’s you were thinking?

Edit, wingspan is pretty much similar if that’s what you meant. But the extra height definitely helps the other guys.

Wingspan/standing reach. I’d have to go back and check since I don’t remember specifically but he’s prob similar in size as well to Maxey.

We need some “true dogs” on this team. My list for 2025. These guys have some ‘edge’ about them.

•Maxime Raynaud (Stanford)
•Collin Murray-Boyles (South Carolina)
•Sion James (Duke)
•Ace Bailey (Rutgers)
•Jeremiah Fears (Oklahoma)
•Khaman Maluach (Duke)

How cool would it be if the 2nd round was gone! Recruiting, scouting and so forth would be intense. Think of all the great players who went in that round. Now they’re free agents.

Great idea :D

What if there are trades?

At 28 or 32, don’t you usually go with best available?

I'd be happy with either Raynaud or Wolf. I wanted Filipowski last year. Celtics haven't drafted a center since Rob Williams in 2018. It makes most sense to break that streak now with uncertainties surrounding KP, Al, and Kornet. Somehow I have a feeling Brad will go for the 6'7 - 6'9 tweener types. My personal dream draft is Raynaud/Wolf + Coward. Let's see.

I like a multitalented big as much as the next guy, but my pet peeve is they gotta control the DEF glass. Based on that, I’d go Maxime at 28.7% this year. Wolf’s is strong as well (29% his last year at Yale), but the eye test says Maxime to me.

Ben Saraf - 20 Pts, 4 Reb, 4 Ast, 2 Stl vs. FC Bayern Munich
Ulm lead 2-1 in the finals. Next game at Ulm, and if they win, they win the championship

He is a player!

Another one I see almost always gone by lates is Jase Richardson.. Not even 6'1 without sneakers?? Not even a point guard at that size?? There are certainly exceptions to that rule like Allen Iverson, but I just don't see it with him.. I pray Boston, doesn't try to get this player.

Of course. My thinking is always getting more positional length and athleticism..

I did not expect the person constantly moaning about the importance of shooters to be much lower than the consensus on Knueppel.

Anyone else think we should take a flyer on Hansen Yang at 32?

Big guy looked really solid at the combine. 7’1”, moves well enough, high IQ, and has some legit touch and feel, especially with his passing. Shot actually looks decent too.

Yeah, he’s not super quick laterally, but the upside is there. Feels like the kind of guy you take a chance on late in the first. Good combine showings have proven a good benchmark for league success.

Hauser is also a shooter.. Possibly better than anything Knueppel will ever be. Yet, would you take Sam Hauser top ten? And Sam is probably a better defender than he will ever be.

Of course, there is a chance He can prove me wrong and excel in the NBA.. But I am not gambling a top 10 pick on him to do so. Let alone a top five.
