Taking this a different route...add picks where you may.
TOR IN: KD, DDV, Miller, picks
TOR OUT: Barnes, Poetl

PHX IN: Rudy, RD, TSJ
PHX OUT: KD

MN IN: Barnes, Poetl
MN OUT: Rudy, DDV, RD, TSJ, Miller, picks
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

I would probably do this one. Ant, McDaniels, Barnes would be a really fun Big 3 to build around. And Poetl is terrific.

I'm not sure Toronto would have enough left to put around KD to make it worth it for them.

Masai essentially gutted his whole core to "build" around Barnes doubt he goes for this. Also Ingram and Durant are similar players with KD being the massive upgrade. Just don't see the incentive for them.

The Wolves would undoubtedly be worse after this trade. We're losing defense, shooting and youth to get Scottie Barnes who is a good player, but hardly a complement to Ant and McDaniels with his poor shooting.

Also, is Poetl terrific? He's known as a good defensive center and while that is his strength, I'm not sure he's actually that good at defense. His NetRtg has been negative the last 3 seasons. His best DRtg has been below 111 only once in the last 6 years.

Ball can’t be traded until August, and I think Gobert is worth more than this. He was still All Defense (second team) last year, and finished the season so strong, so age is not an answer. What he needs is for Ant to learn to throw the lob, and be willing to do it. This would increase the offense for both Rudy and Ant.

Can TC somehow combine this trade with draft selection? I mean CHI will select for MIN sign rookie to a deal, MIN and CHI complete this trade later in August?

MIN OUT: Gobert, Miller, Minot
MIN IN: Kleber, Ball, Smith, 14th pick

Does it make sense?

I don't see any sense.

For all of Gobert's faults, he's still a huge floor raiser in the regular season. And while I see the logic in getting out ahead of his contract, this trade is selling him woefully short. A pick in the teens in a draft where our POBO already has said he doesn't like the value, a guy with bionic knees, and 2 below replacement players is just not worth it.

I see the fit for Ball, but with his injury history, you can't give up a lot for him. Too risky if the knee(s) explode.

Poetl 80% of Gobert at 80% cost. Familiarity with Barnes. Barnes #2 option less stress. Solid 5, with Randle traded for PG.

But they aren't win now. They've been terrible for a while, I could see this as a trade deadline trade next year if the raps are doing well and Barnes isn't raising the floor like crazy.

Barnes is untouchable outside of for a mvp candidate (giannis). Poeltl was also reportedly not included in any deals for KD.

Just for fun…

Gobert and Randle (opt in) to Phoenix
Durant to Miami
Rozier, Robinson, Martin, Micic, and picks (?) to Brooklyn
Claxton, Johnson, SloMo to Minny

Phoenix stays competitive and takes back $5 million less than outgoing
Miami gets Durant and takes back $1 million less than outgoing
Brooklyn clears all long term money, takes only expirings, and gets paid in picks (this would be the crucial part of the trade)
Minny retools, getting younger, deeper, and better fitting. Resign Naz and…

Conley-Dilly-?
Ant-DDV-Clark
Jaden-CamJo-TSJ
Naz-SloMo-Miller/Minott
Claxton-pick 17

All unrealistic…
Steph Curry—————Ricky
Michael Jordan———Ant
Lebron James————KG
Kevin Garnett————Love
Nikola Jokic—————KAT

If Phoenix aggregates contracts, they would then be locked under the Second-Apron. Not impossible, but it would likely take trading Grayson Allen, rather than guaranteeing Martin/Micić.

Welp. No KD. Let's hope we can get a decent PG for Randle and extend Naz and Clark.

Rudy for Green
Randle for Rozier and Ware

Jalen Green? Gross.

If Miami wouldn't trade Ware for Durant, they aren't trading him for Randle...

I know Rozier is bad contract. But he and Mike handle the point when we need ball handling. And taking Rozier for 1 year is only way we get Ware. Green has a lot of experience for a 23 year old, and contract will be reasonable in a year or two.
Future is Green/Ant/Jaden/Naz/Ware.

They're not giving us Ware to get out of 1 year of Rozier.

Green stinks.

Miami would have to buy in on Randle.
But fair enough. Green looks intriguing enough but I have not seen a ton of him.
