If we Trade RJ Barrett for Pat Will's bad contract as suggested by the article
Do you think the Nets will take #9+Pat Will for Cam Johnson+#19? Or would the value be close to #26? Since Nets are ok with taking bad contracts to get more ammo of Top 10 picks to jump up in the draft

The reason I feel this way is that Masai and Co aren’t dumbass fools. Which is what you’d have to be to want to add KD to this collection especially considering what you’d need to give up.
Essentially you’d be mortgaging the short term future, setting us back for the next 5 years at least all for what? Calendar year 38 (only, he won’t extend or re-sign with us) of KD and 6th seed with a maybe a surprise second round ousting.
Would be soooo stupid, and that’s not how we roll.
Made up BS rumours for sure.
a lot of the real guys like windy said iq, yak, rj and ,#9 were available. i think that's true what was wrong or false is other folks thought all of that they were on the table for kd.
from the recent "leaks", it doesnt seem that yak and #9 were ever part of the kd offer.

Hartenstein got overpaid by OKC because he fit perfectly into their payroll before the rest of the roster got expensive. No other team was going to pay close to what he got from them so you can bet your ass his 3rd year will get declined. Fred was the same way for Houston.
Teams have less cap space now than ever before because no one wants to go over the 2nd apron and are trading their big salaries to other teams (e.g. Ingram to Toronto). There's only a few teams this offseason who could even sign anyone above the MLE.
Players will still get paid, they are just more spread around the teams in the league. Unless a player on purpose takes less to stay on a team to win a title, guys like Poeltl will make 30 mil.
No offense but your opinion on Poeltl doesnt count lol.
Like i said, Hartenstein made that money due to special circumstances, not because there were many teams trying to sign him for that amount.

Yet Houston put the number 2 pick in the draft in a deal for KD so that means we should tank. Checkmate DreamTeam!

MLE for a bench 3/4 isn’t all that bad. He’s hits 3’s and won’t get attack defensively. PWill is not all that good but he’s not really making starter money.
Right, but we're losing RJ for a guy who might be useful to us as a spacer. I'm not really seeing the value to the team beyond the financial incentive.
I think moving RJ for the 12th+ Pwill isn't awful, I dont think RJ has much value around the league. Probably not seen as a negative anymore, but no one is beating down our door either.
Also welcome back from retirement
P Will is not worth it and that pick doesnt feel it either.
And thanks

Ino because their 16th pick selection that they traded for on draft night is the one they decided to build around & holds more value

And the third pick from the lottery is what Houston is refusing to put in the deal for Durant. I mean in the context of getting a 38 year old Durant on a team that likely won’t win a championship, I could see why they’d rather keep Ware even if he’ll never be as good Durant is now.

"your opinion doesnt count", that is a stupid way to argument. Only cause you hate poeltl, doesnt mean my argument is wrong. Yes hartenstein got overpaid, but poeltl is also a better player than him. And 30 mil is already the standard for players around poeltl. So its not an opinion anymore, it became league standard. And capsapce goes up, if you want it or not. And as i said, players dont get paid less because of the apron, the good players just get spread out around the league more. But you rather attack me personally, than address the points i have made.

The issue is he looks the part, has a few tools but absolutely sucks at Basketball. 39% career 3 point shooter looks good on paper but it's on 1.2 makes per game. He ramped up the volume a bit more last season and his percentage dropped to 35%, not really a good sign going forward. He's a good athlete but doesn't rebound and he had 18 dunks the entire year, his athleticism doesn't really translate over. His teams also suck badly when he's on the court and are better when he doesn't play. He's a -3.8 in on court per 100 and -7.5 in on/off per 100. 5 years in and there's been no progression in his game. Maybe a change of scenery helps but it's more likely he is what he is at this point.
Yeah, he's... not good at basically anything but 3pt shooting... and even there, he weakens considerably when he gets out of the corner more regularly. He's not a strong ATB shooter.
I'd hope we would want more from our PF that just being an undersized spacer. We've played that game before, and don't really have the juice elsewhere in the lineup to make that work well.
He’d be a bench guy though. Maybe a spot starter if there is an injury. Williams salary is flat at $18m
2027-28 MLE: $17m
2027-2029 MLE: $18.7m

Exactly this. People are out of touch with what $18M is.
At worst he’s a meh contract. At best he improved and is a value.

Why don't we just bring back Boucher instead? He's the much better player and would cost us a lot less money in term and AAV.
You can do both, and PWill would also bring the 12th pick.
I’d love to add 2 young guys to our team. The Anunont trade would end up being IQ/PWill/Mogbo/12 which is a great return

For Heat if they put Ware in the deal they prolly get him....I think Masai is either keeping the 9th pick or Yak in the deal i think we are offering RJ + Yak with no pick or IQ/RJ + 9....I think if Heat add future picks though they get it done....I doubt Masai is offering anymore picks outside of the 9th this year...

The Heat are probably offering a combination of Wiggins, Duncan Robinson, Jovic, 20th pick and a future first. I think addling Ware replaces Jovic or additional picks.
Houston is trying to keep Jabari Smith Jr from the deal and is offering Jaylen Green and 10.
I think San Antonio is offering Devin Vassell and the 14th pick.
Those are the parameters of a deal

No need to include the 9th pick if all Miami is offering are Jacques and Jovic. Neither are considered blue chip prospects...not anymore at least.

If we didn't have BI I would agree with you, but RJ has become largely redundant and an even worse fit. PWill, while by no means is as good as RJ, is a good threat from 3, which is something we need more of, and considering this team is VERY expensive for mid tier talent, we need an influx of young guys on cost controlled contracts. I really don't think RJ has a whole lot of value outside a late first.

Props TZ!
