How about we just wait a year and he can sign here for free into our cap space? and we'll lose nothing.
Unless you think we're getting to finals with him after the trade THIS YEAR, why the hell can't we wait?

From my perspective, the reasonable value proposition for KD is a 2-year window--with greater likelihood that year 1 reaps maximum value than year 2. Foregoing the likely most valuable year of KD production isn't what Miami or KD wants IMO.

Wait, so you're basically saying that years 2 and 3 of the KD contract have marginal value for the team. But that's 2/3 of the duration of his expected contract. Which will be huge $$$ in those years, the years you express very little faith in.

You're also saying that year 1 of this experiment, right after a major roster overhaul in the offseason - is when we should expect an immediate payoff, and the biggest payoff of this trade?

Does that sound like sound logic to justify losing most of our future assets?
To me it sounds completely nonsensical.

U gotta risk it for the biscuit Rex.

Hopefully KD can open things up for everyone so we can get back to holding that trophy.

risking it should come with some potential meaningful reward.

As Greg broke it down - I just don't see it. It's just the risk part.

The potential reward would be confetti.

Weve been a true alpha scorer away.

Maybe KD can raise our collective spirits and give us that confidence to push thru. Finally.

I don’t see a lot of risk in what we’re giving up tbh. East is wide open. Might as well have a crack and then reset.

This is the key… what are we giving up… anything beyond the Butler package starts to turn and increase the risk.

a team of tito's finally getting a mike would be wonderful. im hoping our front office learned something from the Dame situation and can bring this one home without decimating our roster and future.

I’d prefer to keep Jovic over Jaime, but I’m ok with this to get Durant.

That is an overpay and i hope it doesnt happen. Two years from now when he is done, we are going to look back on this trade when we are stuck not able to trade because we gave up multiple firsts for a 37 year old that averages 54 games per season since 2019

Just read an article that said the Suns want:

Ware
Wiggins
Duncan R.
and 2025 FRP

Can't we risk it for some fresh biscuits, not stale, expiring tomorrow kinda biscuits? Unless they are 90% off the sales price, lol

That’s an over pay and Phoenix knows it.

Being a fan since Riley got here… we all know the final offer will be

Wiggins
Robinson
Jaquez
2 first rounders.

The reasoning on trading the picks is you get to keep Ware and Jovic who would complete the majority….. if not all of our front court rotation.

Ware Anderson Love
Bam Jovic
KD Highsmith
Herro Larson Burks
Mitchel Dru …. Terry

We would then have Terry, Highsmith (6m expiring), SLO Mo, 1st rounder to try and trade for a quality starting caliber 2 way guard/wing

Someone else will trade for him and then extend him in all likeliness

I wouldn't give up Ware or this year's FRP. They can have Rozier instead

So basically Mia's swapping Jimmy J Rich Duncan and Ware for KD Anderson and Mitchell (presuming that he resigns)

Return to Miami Heat
