If he’s there at #18, they are absolutely taking that swing. Best passer in the class with an 8’10 standing reach. The upside is undeniable.
FYP
He doesn't have the handles or quickness to create advantages like a true playmaker.
Agreed, good fix. I think he might be worth a lottery ticket if the 3pt shooting comes around. He takes enough 3s and has some off the dribble skill.
Rather trade up from 18 into the CMB/Essengue range though.
Egor Demin is probably my least favorite prospect in 1st round. Liam McNeeley is a close 2nd.
He's simply not a PG. The handle is very basic. Good for a 6-9 guy but not acceptable or creative enough for a guard. He has no real shot creation ability except for a stepback 3 that looks like its never going in. Shot is ugly and release is slow. He has no shot versatility. He needs a pick or screen to do anything on ball. He doesn't have a position to defend.
You can try developing him as a Joe Ingles type but it would require alot of strength & shooting development to get his game up to par.
I look at a guy like Danny Wolf who's physically a C and looks like he clearly has a higher skill level than Demin and can do alot of the guard aspects better than Egor can.
