I think heat offer is probably going to be Rozier's expiring contract, Duncan Robinson, Phx gets to choose 1 between Jovic and Jaquez, pick #20 and 1 pick swap

Not a strong package, but I think Spo envisions Wiggins and Durant player together on the wing in a best case scenario. In the end I bet Wiggins ends up in the package, but that could be part of the hold up at the moment.

I found a trade that covers Charlotte in case KD leaves after the season. It's also better than any offers tbe Suns are getting now.

Bridges they had interest in him in the past and he knows the Suns owner Michigan St connection.

Bridges/Green/Grant/#4 pick for KD

KD leaves after the season Charlotte has massive cap space to replace his departure in FA.

PHX gets Bridges and #4 pick

Win/Win

what the win for charlotte here? freeing up cap space? whens the last time a big free agent came to Charlotte?

We don't have to sign a star. Sign 3 solid players with all that cap space.

But I do seriously believe KD would make a huge difference here. I think LaMelo/Miller would play well off KD. Maybe we luck up and he ends up liking it here. The East is very weak next year with Boston down Tatum.

It's a gamble worth taking. Worst case scenario we get a bunch of cap space.

No, no it isn't lol. Charlotte won just 19 games last year and per your trade would be giving up multiple rotation players in the trade, even with Miller/LaMelo playing more games next year there's literally zero chance a 37 year old KD takes them to actual contention next year. Worst case scenario is you just lit a top 4 pick in the draft on fire for 1 season of mediocrity (before KD inevitably walks in the offseason) and cap space that amounts to nothing noteworthy. It would be organizational malpractice for Charlotte to make that trade.

Spurs won't trade pick 2 or any of their prime young players for a 37 year old.

I think you're right.

Also Minn wants to retain Gobert.
Spurs wants to retain Castle.

Other teams have done an amazing job of controlling the media narrative. This has seeped into this board as well.

KD went from being an all-NBA player who has shown very little decline at age 36

To

A 37 year old malcontent, a year or so removed from retirement, who teams completely inept on offense shouldn't give more than 10 cents on the dollar for - and now he also fights with his teammates.

...in a matter of week. It's kind of amazing to witness.

The next report will be that he drowns puppies and pees sitting down. Source will be either Ron Artest or Stephon Marbury.

He's 37. Why would you even want to extend him? Dude is going to retire in a year or two. No team should be giving up anything of value for him.

This year, his age 36 season, KD was ranked #34 in EPM, #34 in DARKO, and #21 in BPM. His team didn't even reach the play-in. Next season he'll be 37. There is no need for a media narrative. The dude is old as **** and has a reconstructed Achilles. Any team giving up real value for KD is stupid.

Get my Bulls in this and it works better
KD to Miami
Rozier/#20 to Chi
Vuc/Ayo/DRobinson/JJJ/Jovic/future pick from Miami to Suns

Suns get 2 starters in Ayo/Vuc and 3 bench pieces, plus a 2030 Miami 1st

Miami goes for a title with
Herro/Mitchell
Wiggins/Herro
KD/Highsmith
Bam/Anderson
Ware/Bam
Love, Larson, and other vets for deep bench. KD is a perfect fit

Chi adds the #20 and has
Ball/Rozier/JCarter
Giddey/Huerter/Terry/
PWill/Phillips/Terry
Matas/#12 (Newell, Noa or CMB)
Collins/JSmith/#20 (Beringer or Wolf)

Phoenix are a bit deluded themselves thinking they can get a massive package and haul return for KD at his age and numerous other factors.

They won't get much more in return than what Miami got for Butler tbh. That's the sad reality facing Suns fans

I think Barnes (expiring) + Keldon Johnson (two more years) + #14 + future first would be a fair deal for 37-year old KD. I'm not naive enough to think the Suns (Ishbia) would take that offer, but I wouldn't go any higher if I were the Spurs.

RIght now I think nothing happens before the draft because nobody will pay what Phoenix wants. Then Suns and Rockets make a deal at another point in the off-season. Maybe Miami.

I don't think The Spurs want someone of Durant's somewhat volatile and controversial personality around Wemby and their young core more.

The Spurs organisation (ever since Pop got there anyway) seems to have a solid citizen no **** head policy when it comes to players they bring in (and trade out)

That online beef he had Boogie Cousins is another red flag.

I think they will wait a season now and see what happens with Giannis and the Bucks next summer and then try cash in then.

then don't give any. nobody is forced to give anything. amazing that basketball is a team sport, you could have put 27 old durant on the suns team and they would barely made the play in. it is a dysdunctional roster, a bad mybe top 3 worst front office/owner in the league. in the right circumstances durant is still top 15 at any night top 10 player in the league.
you don't have to be as dumb as the suns 3 years ago and bid against yourself

Lol exactly, this was reported 9 days ago.

Sounds like the Suns expectations of return assets are unrealistic.

I think both the dialogue from the Detroit FO and the feeling from a lot of the fans is that they would prefer to largely run it back with minor positional upgrades if possible.

Given what Phoenix is asking, the trade for Durant would take Tobias Harris (for salary purposes, but he was a really important part of our recent successful season), 1-2 of our young prospects and 1-2 first rounders. I just don't see the appeal of giving up all that for a 37 year old Durant who is unlikely to push us into true contention.

I think the Heat trade will be announced Monday night IF they include WARE. If not, I think HOU just gives them more picks back and figures it out with them.

Houston's offer reportedly hasn't changed in a month. There's no sign the Rockets should budge and add more picks. As of right now, the best trade asset Phoenix can get is the 10th pick. It's been that way since KD was first on the trading block.

I think he ends up in Miami or Houston.

If I had to pick between the 2, I think MIA and Silver gives a little nudge to get it done to help ratings in the East.
