2 first rounders.

The reasoning on trading the picks is you get to keep Ware and Jovic who would complete the majority….. if not all of our front court rotation.

Ware Anderson Love
Bam Jovic
KD Highsmith
Herro Larson Burks
Mitchel Dru …. Terry

We would then have Terry, Highsmith (6m expiring), SLO Mo, 1st rounder to try and trade for a quality starting caliber 2 way guard/wing

That’s 1 FRP too many.

Kings have the 42nd pick in 2nd round and also 2 1st rd picks in 2027. The Spurs 2027 pick could be in play to be swapped for pick 20 this year. Kings do not have a 1st this year. Could be prime trading partners. Tyrese Procter is mocked at 42 currently and someone we worked out recently. No DeRozan just pick swapping for future flexibility.

Lmao at a Spurs reporter thinking he knows what Miami’s ultimate motives are.

I can see them doing something where they can
Tradethe 20th to unlock more picks to trade.

If they get Durant, they will 100% make other moves to go all in.

How about we just wait a year and he can sign here for free into our cap space? and we'll lose nothing.
Unless you think we're getting to finals with him after the trade THIS YEAR, why the hell can't we wait?

From my perspective, the reasonable value proposition for KD is a 2-year window--with greater likelihood that year 1 reaps maximum value than year 2. Foregoing the likely most valuable year of KD production isn't what Miami or KD wants IMO.

Wait, so you're basically saying that years 2 and 3 of the KD contract have marginal value for the team. But that's 2/3 of the duration of his expected contract. Which will be huge $$$ in those years, the years you express very little faith in.

You're also saying that year 1 of this experiment, right after a major roster overhaul in the offseason - is when we should expect an immediate payoff, and the biggest payoff of this trade?

Does that sound like sound logic to justify losing most of our future assets?
To me it sounds completely nonsensical.

Marginal can mean 90%. I can’t predict that.

If “losing most of our future assets” means access to the exact same amount of tradeable 1st round picks at the end of that window as today, with Ware advanced and Bam and Herro squarely in their prime (potentially at increased value from having been on a quality team) and deciding on next move from there, then yea I’m ok with the value proposition.

I think Riley is trying to get them to take Terry's expiring instead of Wiggins.

I think something in the area of - Terry, Duncan, 1 of Jaime or Jovic, 20, and a pick swap.

If KD doesn't go through, they would be damn stupid to trade the pick. Especially for DeRozan. That would be something ironically the kings would do.

Giving picks for DeRozan is a fireable offense. It's a Hornets level management move.

It's basically the front office telling every Heat fan - "We think you're dumb and you'll eat up any chit we serve"

I won't.

I don’t think anyone is advocating for parting with pick 20 for DeRozan. It has been pretty unequivocal that he’s a player no one here wants.

I guess we’ll see what the FO thinks. Maybe they’re trying to swing #20 for Devin Carter or someone as DoM I think said.

The Kings reporter clearly stated that we are not discussing DeRozan. It’s probably to get out of the pick to gain future flexibility with the other picks. A similar move the Pacers just made. I don’t think the Kings are sending us Devin Carter for the 20th pick either. He was taken in the lottery last year with the 13th pick. They would essentially be throwing in the towel and admitting a mistake if they did that. It’s too soon for them to sell low on a player they really liked and scouted heavily before the draft.

We got Devin Carter at home already in Davion.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

So is the KD thing going to hit on Tuesday?

Allow for the championship glow on Monday and stay a day ahead of the draft on Wednesday?

Maybe the 20th pick not part of the deal for KD?

Is Miami praying the Suns awful cap situation is enough to get a deal done with contracts only?

Should execute the deal during game 7

And wait for a dramatic moment to happen to call it in

But KD is supposed to be a win now player. The last two seasons in the win column are not impressive.

Suns aren’t Miami Heat!
