Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 3
If Durant wants this done he should just tweet/ leak that's he's open to an OKC reunion. That should motivate a team like Houston to get something done.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

I would say that there are 3 soft deadlines for the KD's trade:
1) Today. Presumably we would have final offers this weekend.
2) Draft's night.
3) 30th June. Last day before the start of the new season.
Robinson's contract is not anything special.
Only his guaranteed portion counts as salary for the Heat for matching purposes. The receiving team has to be able to accommodate his full contract amount.
I went over this in detail pulling directly from the CBA as a reference a few pages ago
You're right, but roping in another team could make make use of it too. If Miami sends him out at only his guaranteed amount, they add more outgoing salary (e.g., Anderson & change), and a 3rd team can take either Robinson or the extra Anderson salary, then whoever gets Robinson can still waive him for the savings.
Brooklyn might be the easiest participant with all their cap. They can take all $19mil into space but then get $10mil back after waiving him, lowering the amount of compensation they might need than if they were stuck with all $19mil.

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 3
Hm...would have been nice to get a Whitmore or future 1st if Smith wasnt in there, dont love that. I just dont get why including a decent young player was this unacceptable "giving up the farm" scenario.
Brooks is good but unlikely to be part of the team when the Suns are good again. This is the delusions of competing rearing its head. They better hit on #10.
Nothing about rerouting Green at the top, which is a little concerning.

My goodness me... if this is the most we were able to obtain, then we would probably better keep him. I am pretty sure we could obtain a much better package for him when the season starts... Green? Did anybody realize we already have 3/4 SGs in the roster... ???
I hope this is not true.

Basically what I thought but maybe a bit worse Jalen Green is duplicative with Booker so can he be flipped. I don't mind Dillon Brooks but he probably also has more value on another team
These teams know Ishbia is a stooge

It's possible he tells the Rockets he wants the Spurs and will not extend. Rockets gambled here pulling the trigger on him without an extension.

Now go try and get something positive for Grayson and O'Neill.

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 3
Do we feel any better about Green if Beal is either gone or in a 20-25mpg bench role? Booker/Green/Brooks starting with whatever the sad frontcourt is could be worse..
Point Book isnt stupendous but it at least allows you to get a real defensive 3 (Brooks) on the court with another shot creator in Green, without having a tiny PG further compromising the defense. Point Book is likely the best option until they can find a high level primary initiator.
They do have a few weeks to figure something out with Green, but his value will likely never be lower than it is now. Maybe Green improves his value and is traded next year. Or Booker finally gets moved next year and Green is around to be a scorer on the wing, hes still only 23.
Im just in my forcibly optimistic mode

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 3
This deal feels half completed. Why is Green not sent to 3rd team? We just take on another bad contract and play with 3 SG's. Ok 5 2nd round picks and Brooks is nice, but other than that this deal is wtf. We cant even get one prospect player?!

Because we don’t have a competent GM running things.

I think this is the key -- moving O'Neale and Allen - and see what you can do with Beal
