Like it for the Rockets. They're the type of team that should be gambling on KD. They weren't doing anything without a real top option. It's a pretty cheap gamble too. Getting off Green is nice.

That’s diabolical to give the 10th pick instead of giving back the future unprotected in 2027.. :o Kudos to the Rockets. Somehow the Suns’ roster is even uglier now. Ishbia gon keep Ishbuying.

Miami with a case of overvaluing your own players.

What did you guys offer?

We don't know for certain but likely Vassell, Barnes, 14th picks + 2nds

That probably would have helped the Suns financially and even out the players positions.

Getting a top-10 pick for a 37 year-old is a pretty damn good return for Phoenix.

Phoenix might as well just trade Booker. They’re going no where.

I really like this for the Suns

You get two starters and #10 for ancient Durant. You are younger and hungrier.

Some of the 2nds look bad however. Maybe they help you get Maluach with #10. Will be interesting to see what they do with #10.

Rockets needed a scorer and got one.

If they even had an average one, they make the WCF last year. Jalen Green had one job and couldn't even scorer 10 points in a game 7. Pitiful player that offers nothing.

I don't know, KD by now has a bad aura following him, finding happy KD is a new grail of the NBA. And he is 37, if he is jsut flat out worse than Jalen Green by next season, that wouldn't be shocking, it is shocking he is still not fallen apart as it, and I mean, he didn't, so maybe I sell him short, but that cliff down comes fast and when it happens it just happens.

Like the trade but I think keeping Brooks would have been ideal. They are in win now mode and Brooks is ready for that

Not that he has much value but I wonder if Beal would consider dropping his NTC at this point. Maybe that is part of Phoenix's master plan here.

Dillon Brooks should never be a holdup to get Kevin Durant, even when KD is 80 years old.

PHX couldn't have hoped for a better return.

Jalen Green is a negative contract though, so there is definitely a salary dump aspect here. All they really lose of value is the #10 pick and some 2nds, while dumping a bad contract. Houston gets a chance at contention, I think people are sleeping on the Rockets.

KD will be 37 by the time the season starts. KD prob has 2 good years left. PHX was never going to recoup what they traded for him. This package tells me that the reported offers were all cap. If Minny and Raptors were really making those offer, PHX would have already accepted. This tells me PHX was losing leverage and was getting low ball offers they whole time.

That 10 pick could be valuable but not getting back Sheppard, Bari, or Eason is a miss. Nobody wants Jalen Greens and he is seen as negative value leaguewide. That was surprising.

Suns just gotta deal with Beal for one more season and then cut him/buy him out. Then they can stretch his $57 million over 3 years. And in the new CBA they could actually spread that final season over 3 more years.

2025-26: $53.7 million
-------------
2026-27: $19 million (dead)
2027-28: $19 million (dead)
2028-29: $6.3 million (dead)
2029-30: $6.3 million (dead)
2030-31: $6.3 million (dead)

Beal is never going to waive his no trade clause.

Not a fan of this deal from either side. Houston will get stuck paying a 38 year old player $60M and if he gets injured, the team will definitely lose a great deal of momentum. At that age, any serious injury is basically retirement and it’s likely they will play KD as a wing which is a bad idea for his endurance. For the Suns, why do this trade at all? Green is a mess and overpaid for his production. They have too many wings and too many chuckers and also too many hotheads. If the Suns don’t make the playoffs, then Booker may demand out. Lots of risk for them and not much upside.

Last season, Houston destroyed the Clippers every game due to their ridiculous speed and athleticism. What happens with the much slower KD?

You have to win in the next years with KD. Not really enough time to play around.

I have to look at the roster but he’s a playoff level good rotation piece. Guys like that are important.
