also hopefully this means miami is gonna go after kuminga as a consolation prize and they save us from that mistake

(although i also legitimately think kuminga is a much better fit there than he would be here)

Packages were kind of similar, which is crazy considering KD is a champion and HOF.
Bulls got a #12.
Suns got a #10.

I'm not a huge Jalen Green fan, so I think the player package of Green vs Huerter/Collins/Tre is a bit better for Phoenix but not massively better.
The 2nds are probably going to be irrelevant unless they can move a ton of them for a first.

I guess how awesome of a deal this is for PHO hinges a lot on if one thinks Green's a star...I think he's another Zach Lavine and maybe not even.

Ill take one Jalen Green over any Huerter/Collins/Tre combo. Giddey/Green/Matas is rebuild done on fly. You might as well keep Coby on bench role. With #12 find decent center to protect rim and be done. Bulls can only dream finding talent similar to Jalen Green at #12.

Coby and Vuc for Green? I would have to think if I'd include Por 1st. The only reason I consider it is that I know Coby can't defend and I just think Green can't/won't.

If that’s the price you do it 100 out 10 times. I am willing to take him to airport myself for free

Are we talking about the same Jalen Green who is as efficient a scorer as Russell Westbrook but without the assists or rebounds or hustle?
Coby at 60% is on the upper end.

From a basketball standpoint a Coby for Green swap would be pretty horrible even without a 1st thrown in. If on the Bulls, Green would be one of our worst scorers on the team fitting in between Dalen Terry and Lonzo Ball.

Houston gave up 2 starters who were huge for them and a higher pick to get 37 yr old Durant. I think this is a bad trade for Houston, the Suns did a similar trade where they got Durant and killed their team.

No thanks to Green, but I don't see Queen making it pass the Suns for those that wanted him to slide to us at 12

Phoenix would have to conjure two first round picks out of the aether for me to even think about a White/Green swap.

It's an odd trade for both teams. The Suns now have four shooting guards (Green, Beal, Booker, and Allen). The Rockets now have none (unless Im missing someone). They have a lot of forwards.

KDs shooting should help Houston.

The Phoenix Suns have agreed on a blockbuster trade, sending 15-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the draft and five second-round picks, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

Time to change my mock draft.

They might not draft for fit, but the Suns need a power forward or center.

I don't think AK will trade Coby, but if he is then he should call Houston. They have no shooting guards.

I think the trade is fair in that both teams got an outcome they wanted. Durant is still performing at a high level but for how much longer? And Phoenix might have some potentially good players available with that #10 pick. Sorber would probably be available at #10 and he'd fit a roster need for them pretty well. Even with their #29 pick some decent guys may be available depending how things shake out. Drake Powell, Will Riley, and possibly Ben Saraf might still be on the board. And the Suns picked up two solid rotation players. Houston got an aging scorer. Trading for aging veterans, no matter how great a career they've had, seldom works out as planned. (See Damian Lillard for the Bucks, James Harden for the Nets in 2021, Chris Paul to the Warriors in 2023...)

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Houston doesn't want to trade anyone else of value so unless they want to dangle Reed Shepard and their 2027 unprotected 1st or Amen Thomson or Jambari Smith Jr then I'm not trading with them. They don't have a 1st to trade until 2027. The Bulls aren't good enough to wait that long.

I don't think it's an automatic to look to PHO, just no way the conversation continues for Beak without 5 FRPs. First the Bulls need to talk to the people in HOU and anybody who knows Green and see if he would have any desire to fit in with who the Bulls have now. He's got the money for life he's got to see the Bulls don't need/want somebody to just fire up shots, easy does it on the stats and try to win games.

I can see PHO trying to assemble talent that gets rolling beyond next season, expiring Vucevic gives them time to find their center, an expiring Ayo would be a great glue guy to bring back on a young team

Green White
Giddey Ball
Collins Smith
Buzelis Phillips
Huerter Williams

that's depth there are options for #12, 45

KD remains in the west, the Bulls path to the finals remains clear!
