This KD trade was exactly the package GSW should have got for Steph at the trade deadline, instead if adding JB. Then Jalen Green and Kuminga could lead the tank, they would have missed the playoffs, had their own pick at 15, and the 10 pick. It would have chopped two years off of the rebuild timeline.

Interesting that people think Jalen green is good. I think brooks might be the most valuable piece of that trade. The tenth pick I get but unless someone likes ace Bailey drops, I am not sure of coward or someone else at 10 to help right now

RealGM is such an unserious place. Jalen Green is awful as the Suns drafting record and Brooks could be replaced for cheaper but it’s an overpay giving them up a bunch of seconds that get passed around more than a Kardashian and a late lotto pick they’ll likely screw up like they normally do for an all time great.

The Suns made an awful trade. Even for his 3 team list. At least they didn’t screw themselves over with agents but they should’ve got Whitmore back at least. I don’t see how Miami and Spurs didn’t beat this. If I’m Bam I’m looking at the Heat front office crazy.

This season Durant averaged 26.6 points, .527 field, .430 threes, 1.2 blocks... so when will he have a bad season?
Age 37 ... 26ppg
Age 38 ... 26ppg
Age 39 ... 25ppg
Age 40 ... 25ppg
Age 41 ... 24ppg
And might actually score more than 26ppg, because he's getting more efficient with age!

Durant 3-pointer shooting:
Phoenix .427
Brooklyn .400
Golden State .384
Oklahoma City .380

He had better teams on paper than the Rockets, with the Nets and Suns and those teams both crashed and burned as failures.

Even in the last two Olympics, while playing on the by far and away best and most stacked team in the tournament (USA), he could barely beat international teams when it mattered. And actually wouldn't have in the last Olympics without Curry.

Durant was once a really great player, and I loved his game and watching him play, but at this point in his career, he's just a shooter on offense, and he can't play any defense.

His stats still look really nice, but in reality, he's a complete shell of the player he was on Golden State.

But was any of those failures Durant's fault?
Why would you blame the most efficient player in the team for failures?
And in the Olympics everybody in that team would have lost if they didn't have Curry, as he totally saved them from losing the gold medal !!
So why blame Durant for Curry being the reason for them winning gold? Why not blame all the other players?

This team is also super expensive in 26-27.

This is a win for Houston unless two more years at $60m+

He should take 2/$100m given his age.

Suns have a total mess of a roster with Beal, Booker and now Green on the books. Who all play the same position and play zero defense. How is this a win for them?

People hate KD on here. This trade is ass for the Suns.

They are such a joke. At least be serious. Like Jalen Green? They still own all the Suns picks who are going to be ass, didn’t give up any prospects but the one who stinks and in 3 years when he retires their prospects might just be entering their primes. How did Houston lose?

Sure he has few seasons left but this offer feels like other teams didnt really make bid for him

KD made it difficult. He had three teams he would extend with, Suns preferred this out of the other deals. That’s it.

It doesn't work like that; you can't reliably predict when age catches up to athletes. When that happens, their play takes a huge drop off a cliff. Either that or they start getting injured.

Problem was and still is that apparently KD was adamant about not wanting to go back to GSW just like he didn’t want to go to Min or NYK either cause clearly they could’ve also offered something equal to this too. Phx clearly did not want to make KD unhappy and say “screw what’s best for you”. I’m sure GSW would want to accommodate Steph too if he ever wants out

Dillon Brooks never needs to average 11.9 field goals per game. 42% from the field.

Jalen Green leading the Rockets in attempts with 17.5 at 42%.

The Rockets removed two problems off their books.

Now, they need to remove FVV who shot 37% from the field.

That''s a great deal of money for three players that are bad shooters. Roughly $100m per season.

This is great if you’re Houston. Offload Green, #10 in this draft is okay, and Eason and Whitmore can take over for Brooks and are much younger.

On top of that, you now have your consistent go-to scorer who also brings in great length and your young guns learn from one of the all-time greats.

That was really the best you could get for Durant?

Because they had screwed up their roster and had no path to contention. Getting something back for KD that can be used to build for the future was step one of what will surely be a multi-year transition/rebuild. This trade was about getting assets back not building a playoff team that makes sense. This is only step one.

Lol getting a bunch of 2nds that they could probably easily acquire down the line, another awful inefficient SG, a SG who’s a nut case to add to the growing collection of SGs for the 10th pick and still don’t own control of their future picks. This is awful. Not to mention in the west.

I guess because Durant proved he's a more efficient scorer AFTER being seriously injured  it makes future injuries look like no problem

This trade also opens the door for Amen to take on a bigger role. Huge win for houston.
