Or draft a 23-24 year old who can contribute off the bench as a rookie.

Or even make a trade and draft 2 players. . . . That's why I look forward to the draft, even if they only have one pick in the late 2nd round. It's still fun.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

As usual Knicks need more versatile length with two way skills but most players found that late in the 2nd round will be seriously flawed or projects. Although, that Diawara kid looks promising and he's got the skills and size to fit what the Knicks need more of.

That other center kid coming over to add to Huk, PacD and TyKo along with a 6-9 defensive demon with arms for days sounds good to me. His shot doesn't look too broken and he's young so there's upside.

I haven't even given a look to what is projected to go in the back half of the draft so I couldn't give any names that look interesting to me. I wasn't even giving a rats azz about a pick that late until Thibs got fired, now I might give a little bit of rats azz but not too much more.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

I feel sad tonight. We were very close this year.

My silver lining tonight is that the annual Draft thread is TWO PAGES instead of its usual seven 100-page ranting lunacy.

NY. We here. Nice job, fellas!

Okay, pretend you are Leon. What order do the following occur: 1. New Coach 2. Key trade 3. Draft And do any occur between now and the draft?

I like the idea of drafting a French player if we intend to keep Dadiet to help mentor. Preferably it's someone who compliments Dadiet rather than a guy who plays the same position.

Otherwise, we need a rotation player in the worst way

I just hope we don't use the pick as a political favor to any agents

Also, it will be a bit concerning to me if we draft a pick without having a head coach in place. I feel like a coach is more likely to play a draft pick if he had a hand in selecting the player.

1. New Coach

2. Draft

3. Key Trade (might be something small, I think it would take a lot to convince Leon to break up our 7 player core we have)

If I were Leon I would have fired Thibs years ago.

Seriously though. I would have a sense of urgency to get a HC in here before the draft. The lackadaisical approach bothers me. Either it's a smoke screen and they already know who they will get, or they are dragging their feet with two interviews in almost a month. If it's the former, they are waiting on Kidd to weasel out of DAL. If it's the latter, I'm annoyed.

That's a tough one, because trades depend on a 2nd team agreeing to it, so there's no direct control.

But if I was Leon, a coach is key because you want the coach to be on board with the roster changes, which include draft and trades.

After that, I don't know if they have a trade in their future, outside of maybe a draft day trade. Maybe Leon adds a 2nd round pick or does something small. The draft is in 2 days / 3 days for 2nd round, so Leon's got to be thinking about that.

1) Draft (including draft day trades) - because it's so close.
2) Coach
3) Trade - which happens if/when there's a 2nd team and something is worked out. The Bridges trade happened early in the off season, but the KAT trade didn't happen until I think it was, early October. Trades are hard to predict.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

I can agree that the draft isn't as urgent only having the one late pick but. I would prefer a HC ASAP. AT LEAST another interview before the draft. It's been 3 weeks and we've had two interviews. Kinda lame IMO.
