I seriously think it's gross that he has been with so many teams. It's such a huge detractor for Kevin. He literally hasn't done anything since the Warriors and he should've gone back to the warriors just for the legacy. It's crazy.

Honestly I don’t think he did much with the Warriors either, besides ride Steph’s coat tails. He should have stayed in OKC or gone to a team that couldn’t win without him.
Ah, the hate..lol

I saw KD lead Golden State to two championships and he won two finals MVP's.

Thankfully, Steph won a Finals MVP later on in 2022, because there was concern here on Realgm if he would ever win a FMVP.

lol this picture has him on the suns twice and Seattle/OKC is technically the same team.

At the end of the day, Houston isn't winning the championship next year.

...AND then what?

Houston going to invest another year or 2 into him?

Kind of a play just for **** and giggles. Houston GM will be on the hot seat sooner than later..

Well he’s 37 years old, always hurt, and doesn’t really play defense anymore.

Thing is Houston has got good defenders in a good system to neutralize that. Just like Harden looks like a solid defender in JVG clippers system but trash with MDA Rockets even when they had Dwight Ariza Beverly.

The whole point of the trade is to get rid of Green (which is already a bit too late but better than never). For that its not a L for Houston at least.

Good value here imo. Houston was able to keep the future Phoenix picks? Homerun.

What a monster lineup. Length, defense, and shooting everywhere.

VanVleet/Holiday
Thompson/Sheppard
Durant/Thompson
Smith/Eason
Sengun/Adams
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards/Council

Addition by subtraction for the Rockets. They got rid of two negative impact players (Green and Brooks), gave up one draft pick, and several meaningless 2nd round picks all for Durant who is undoubtedly going to improve their offense.

Big questions will remain about their guard play. Is FVV good enough at this stage of his career to be a starting PG? Who is their SG?

Jalen Green leading the Rockets in attempts with 17.5 at 42%.

The Rockets removed two problems off their books.

Now, they need to remove FVV who shot 37% from the field.

That''s a great deal of money for three players that are bad shooters. Roughly $100m per season.

FVV is still shooting sub 40% ? man...

That's who he is at this point. He's a career 40% shooter.

Fred VanVleet almost exclusively shoots threes at this point in his career. He’s never going to shoot a high percentage with his shot chart.

"Houston isn't winning the championship next year"

Wow, bold take. You can say that about any team not named OKC and have a 95% chance of being right.

Giving up the #10 pick to upgrade Green to KD is easily worth the swing. It's not like they punted their future with this trade.

Thanks for the clarification. Think its the same result. I don't think you trade for KD and then just let Van Vleet go.

And I saw the warriors win a title before and after him. He took the easy way out and joined the team that had the best record of all time. His rings are worthless. Especially compared to someone like Giannis and Dirk and Joker who won it on the team that drafted them with minimal help.

I'm surprised so many like this trade for Phoenix. The were poorly constructed before this trade and still to me are poorly constructed after it. Even if they swing Green to another team. That's still unlikely to get them a piece to make them a playoff team in the West. I just see a treadmill team.

That is all fine and dandy, but to say KD road Steph's coattails is nonsense.

I think all the more reason they exercise the option. No way i let FVV become an UFA.

Adding more nonsense to prove a point?

The fact is that KD helped the Warriors win two titles and he won FMVP both years.

We have no idea if the Warriors would win two without KD the years they won but the chances are slim.

Continue to hate Effigy.

Sure but he has never been a high percentage shooter either. It's not going to change now.

At this point you just hope he improves on his 34% 3 point shooting that he's shot 2 of the past 3 years.

I love this for KD and the Rockets. Wish they had more of a pure PG than FVV though. Very interested to see how next year turns out regardless. If Amen makes a big leap next year, this Rockets team is going to be a problem.

I doubt Houston wants to pay him 45 million next season nor is he worth it.

If you're Houston, you opt out and sign him to a new 2 year contract at a reduced rate.
