If he wins finals mvp tonight he moves a lot closer to having a hall of fame resume.

Weren't both Hali and Siakam rated as one of the most overrated players in the league by their peers? Maybe now they'll get more respect

He’s definitely getting in with a FMVP added to his resume. He has a shot without it too if he can make a couple more allstar appearances and all NBA.

If you want to criticize Masai about anything regarding the Siakam trade, criticize him for putting a horrific roster out there for years making the decision to move him all but a requirement. Zero spacing = ineffective Siakam, project 6'9 was a massive failure and effectively resulting in us having to blow up the team.

There was never any Project 6'9".

19-20: Kyle 6'0, FVV 6'0, OG 6'7, Siakam 6'9, Gasol 6'11 (Norm 6'4, Ibaka 6'11, TDII 6'4)
20-21: Kyle 6'0, FVV 6'0, OG 6'7, Siakam 6'9, Baynes 6'10 (Norm 6'4, Boucher 6'9, Flynn 6'1)
21-22: FVV 6'0, Gary 6'4, OG 6'7, Scottie 6'7, Siakam 6'9 (Achiuwa 6'8, Boucher 6'9, Birch 6'9)
22-23: FVV 6'0, Gary 6'4, OG 6'7, Scottie 6'7, Siakam 6'9 (Achiuwa 6'8, Boucher 6'9, Koloko 7'1)
23-34: Denis 6'1, Scottie 6'7, OG 6'7, Siakam 6'9, Jak 7'0 (Gary 6'4, Precious 6'8, Dick 6'6)

It was never so exact. And 2020 doesn't count. But the unsuccessful thing was having great teams in 19 and 20, with an awesome center tandem, and then trying to move to the concept of no centers for a few years before finally . getting Jak, and only Jak. Starting frontline of Pascal Barnes and OG, with backups Birch, Boucher, and Precious, that was vision 6'9. And not enough of them could shoot.

I still remember early in Koloko's rookie year. Nurse was starting him, and separately after different games a few days apart, Fred and OG each made unprompted postgame comments along the lines of, it's really nice to have a big shotblocker backing us up.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

I dunno. I think a second ring, especially given how he has played, would 100% only enhance things for Pascal and wouldn't negatively reflect on the Toronto title at all. It just didn't make any sense.

His run so far these Finals has made Breen and Doris and others mention the Raptors title far more than normal, if that helps

Let's see if Pascal can be the #1 on a finals team now with Hali done and the series on the line.

Yeah this is kinda what I mean, project 6'9 wasn't that every single player ever put on the roster was exactly that height and can't shoot. But we staffed the team with tons of tall guys who were just "athletic", couldn't shoot, but we had this clueless idea that we can teach anyone to shoot.

He also conveniently didn't mention Dalano, Juancho, Thad, Jontay Porter, Jalen McDaniels, Bonga, Len, Yuta (mainly sucked here tbf), McCaw, Gillespie and so on. All dudes between 6'6 and 6'11 who couldn't shoot their way out of a paper bag. That stretch of 5-6 years was the epitome of shoot some **** at a wall and hope something sticks.

Shows how good of a number 2 he is.

And also how freaking bad and useless of a first banana he is.

He’s horrified to touch the ball since Halliburton got hurt lol.

Pascal is not a first option he excels with less attention on him. Indiana needs to trade neismith and mathrin for a real scoring wing.

This whole second half looks like Bubble Siakam vs the Celtics.

Totally helpless when there’s any attention on him

What a **** game 7. Totally awful luck for the Pacers with Haliburton going down.

Pity.

their entire team on that underrated/overrated wave tbh including the coaching

Yeah siakiam jumper has always been inconsistent and his strength as well. Hard for him to ever truly be a number 1 option with those weaknesses.
