Hand Luka to the Lakers to maximize that valuation, every owners paper net worth just went up at least a billion overnight. Mavs get an immediate replacement star. How conveniently perfect for everyone

good coaching, good system and players who are happy to buy in. ball movement >>>>> hero ball.

its why i tried to hate MJ so much when I was younger, but the bastard kept winning. triangle still helped a ton though.

The Hornets were one of the better passing teams in the league for two years with JB and Triano coaching. Too bad they were the first casualties of Mitch's disastrous 2021 draft.

KD trade is happening, without a third team involved. From ESPN:

The Phoenix Suns have agreed on a blockbuster trade, sending 15-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in this year's draft and five second-round picks, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

The trade can be formally completed when the new league year begins July 6.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Plenty of time between now and July 6th to work in more teams for the Jalen Green aftermarket, including draft night.

The sun's insider I'm watching now seems pretty convinced that they are keeping green. Also pretty convinced that there's zero percent chance that Beal is on the roster next year. Will either trade him or negotiate a buyout. I think the green fit in Phoenix becomes a little more palatable if Beal is off the roster. He did mention that the suns were and in desperate need of some more players to put pressure on the rim which green will immediately bring. And I do like Dylan Brooks as a short term instigator to get a little more Physicality and nastiness to that team. They still need to find a point guard and they need to upgrade Nick Richards no doubt.

The sun's kind of handicapped the market once they said the quiet part out loud by mentioning that Durant had to be traded this offseason.

Suns got it done in advance of pick 10, as telegraphed. My thinking is they'd made significant progress up to the point of publicizing the timeline for the trade.

Out of the rumored teams, Rockets had the best draft position offered at 10. Spurs probably offered 14. Durant fired the bullet at the Wolves but they never had a strong draft position.

They've probably surveyed the market for Jalen Green through the Rockets who would've known the other teams calling the most on him and sharing intel with Phoenix as one catalyst for progress in negotiations. Could even be the Suns know which players teams offered the Rockets, and which draft picks could be added to the final haul.

we should be all over Beal for the MLE if he does actually get bought out from Phoenix. yes he's 32, but this would be a prime place for him to rehab his value over the next two years and then he could possibly cash in at age 34. He'd help us quite a bit offensively and we won't find a better player for under $15M/year.

(And don't tell Phoenix, but he's a much better player than Green)

Booker usage is so high, its one of those point guard spots you need more 3 and D than creativity.

Beal still has a ton of money left on his contract, how big is the buy out going to be??

really interested to see what other moves Phoenix have up their sleeve.

What a perfect consolidation trade for Houston. The KD window isn't very long, but they didn't give up all that much and their team should be a legit contender for the next two years. They are pretty stacked and very well balanced now. I think they need another bench guard, but otherwise their rotation should be pretty much set.

starter: FVV ~ Amen ~ KD ~ Jabari ~ Sengun
bench: Reed ~ Whitmore ~ Eason ~ Adams

Hopefully Houston not giving up so much will temper the market a bit after the crazy Bane haul. I really hope Hornets are inquiring about Markkanen.

Game 7 of the NBA Championship, down your top player in the first quarter where he was 3-4 from 3 and leading his team in points.

It's the most tragic injury in NBA history.
