Not sure why Gimenez is hitting against a lefty in this spot in the game either, you’re just giving away an out

Hit the ball a combined 120 feet in that inning.

Absolutely agree. They do not want to hurt Hoffman's feelings after he signed here with the promise of being the Closer. Also, Yariel only threw 10 pitches and there was no reason why he could not come back for the 8th Inning. Schneider overmanaging like a fool once again.

He’s actually been what people thought Romano was, except there is no world in which Romano would have retained a closer’s role if he had a 6 ERA in nearly July.

5 RPs used now to get through 3 innings in a game that maybe only 1 or 2 were actually necessary and in a game the Jays are almost certainly going to lose.

Masterclass of managing.

Worst loss of the season. Getting further exposed as the .500 team they always were.

This loss is almost entirely on Schneider

Absolutely crazy. Nothing else that can be said. Pathetic way to end a home stand to lose a series against one of the worst teams in MLB. When you have Yariel Rodriguez throwing only 10 pitches in the 7th, why not bring him back in the 8th with the off day tomorrow? With that being said, I would even have left Little to finish the 8th, since I seen Hoffman too many times now implode when he comes into a game inheriting runners on base.

The logical move originally would have been left Bassitt to come in for another inning also. This organization will never experience post-season success (if it even makes the Wild Card) when you have Schneider doing his classic overmanaging, and having Hoffman as the Closer. Any other organization would also remove Hoffman as the Closer by now. It is time Yariel is made the Closer if this team is serious about winning games.

Monday morning quarterbacking this: I would have run Bassit out for 20 more pitches for the 7th & Yariel for the 8th.

But that's just me.

Bassitt asked to be pulled because he was feeling sick. Still doesn't explain why Yariel was pulled after an inning and why Little got hooked after two outs.

For pulling Bassitt an inning to early? For not using Rodriguez for an extra inning? Or for somehow keeping his son on the bench when Gimenez was hitting against a lefty?

Play of the century by Gimenez in the 2nd inning.

The way Clement is playing, the Gimenez acquisition is looking like a massive mistake.

Gimenez doesn't have to hit much, but an OPS of .568 like he has now is totally unacceptable.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

One of them is going to be playing shortstop next year for this team, making them both quite valuable going forward.
