If it gets us a shot at Knueppel or Tre I'm interested.

They are DEEP into the 2nd apron. They'd have to match salaries... and at that point, we don't get to take valued draft capital from them too.

I don't know about the timing...but if we clear the MLE, we could just take Royce O'Neal (with the pick) into that cap space and save them some money...I'm not sure that that and #25 gets us #10, but I'd investigate.

I was thinking of similar stuff with BOS and Hauser, as BOS has serious cap issues...they also have #28 & #32, which would be a more realistic swap for #25 than #10...I think a pick that high takes a lot. I'd do something with WCJ and #25 to get high enough for Maluach, but I don't think he's there at #10.

another PHX question...did the KD trade get them below the 2nd apron?

Carter, Jett, 25 for Allen and 10 is the best I could come up with.

that's about it... I can't see them sending us Allen and the 10th pick for that package.

Probably not.

But Allen is a relatively expensive backup and Carter gives them a viable starting center.

He’s a perfectly acceptable 8th/9th man in a rotation.

Pretty much the classic 3&D backup 3/4 wing guy.

Doesnt e get killed downlow due to his height? Or is he in the rodman/draymond status?

Starting caliber Centers are really hard to come by while bench warmer SG's are easy to come by. Hard no.

He’s been a positive defender his entire career.

What you see is what you get. He’ll play 20-24 minutes a night, defend physically and hit open threes and absolutely nothing else.

From what I've seen he's really more of a 3 than a 4 but he's still a pretty solid defender. Before he was in Phoenix where they're loaded with 2's he also played minutes at the 2 fairly often apparently, per basketball reference.

The prize for Orlando would be the ability to get a good, cost-controlled player at 10 who could be in their rotation for the next 4-5 years at an under market price.

Allen’s shooting off the bench would be a bonus.

Royce IS JAG...taking him off their payroll sweetens the deal...jumping from #25 to #10 is a BIG deal, value wise...but I'm not even sure there's someone there that is THAT exciting. I would do it for Maluach, but he'll be gone 7,8, or 9 according to most mocks.

I almost see no way we trade up in this draft. I wouldn’t be surprised if we traded out on the draft night.

Yeah I just see too many rumors of teams having interest in trading up with more assets than we would care to part with to feel like we have any actual chance of moving up.

I feel like if we did move up it would end up being minimal (20/21/22/etc) to secure a guy still on the board the FO loves.

Orlando will have to make the selection at 25 but I kinda agree it’ll be. Orlando picks x and then follow-up tweet Orlando has traded x and the rights
to “25th picked player” for ….
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Suns get Goga, Black, and 25th pick rights

Magic get Grayson Allen and 10th pick rights.

Suns get a starting center and a big guard that is still young and can defend at a high level. They get some cheap talent in the 2nd rd to fill out their roster.

Magic get a sniper in Allen who will spread the floor at an elite level and provide some shenanigans like moe off the bench to get under other teams skin. Then with the 10th take the best player available. Hopefully Fears, Tre Johnson, maluach will be there. But at the very least we reset the time line with a more cost controlled young guy.

Thoughts?
