Lets be open here, its the content that matters.

Chanel was called a troll for his essays on how rj sucked and meLo is called a troll cause he thinks randle was better than kat. And some posters take it way too personal.

Yet its okay for mp and nodope and iron to talk mad sht about thibs cause thats the consensus around here.

Its not constant spamming or agenda trolling. This is a basketball forum were we have really intelligent posters who understand the nuisances and stats of the game and that boy is nice fans who like to crack jokes and an artist with crazy photoshop skills and also meLo. All should have a platform here.

Perfect example. Jimmits constant spamming and lack of arguments did him in. We gave him plenty of leeway.

Chanel is not a troll and brought in well thought out arguments. Don’t think he ever even got a warning or ban. He brings great content to the forum that sparks legit debates.

So that’s the difference. A ton of people had bad things to say about RJ and weren’t banned.

KAT vs Randle can def be argued, just doesn’t belong in every single thread. A ton of people bring up Kats flaws which are certainly fair game. People could talk about Thibs flaws, Brunsons flaws, you can talk about Mikals flaws, etc as they are relevant to the games being played.

The Randle talk just spammed too often in too many threads that weren’t even about Randle. A lot of times they weren’t even arguments and just troll bait posts which was the bigger issue. I mean, we even did let a lot of these things go on, but like Icarus flying towards the sun they just took it too far.

I agree Chanel isnt a troll. He is an intelligent poster who "knows ball" but he was harassed and labeled a troll by the same posters here who strongly disagreed with his takes.

And to the point which you brought up i. Your first post being whats the limit and range that is acceptable is the issue here. Cause some posters would let the fck thibs ammo fly and rarely was it met with derision but any randle > kat stuff would send posters.

The problem is a lot of the posters complaining about it did the same sht. As evidence by the lack of self awareness by certain posters in this thread.

And honestly like ICH said this issue really doesn't bother me as much as mods jumping on post with a wall of blue text cause its "derailing".

circling back real quick we're going to argue thibs vs new coach all year and this kat vs randle, gallo vs chandler, ect, ect will live on cause thats whats we do here. We pick sides (except me cause I like to be allusive)

Yea, things like calling posters names is what we are trying to cut down on.... And it really goes for everyone and we aren't singling out any one person or group. Pretty much we have all talked **** and been victims at times. I've def been there on both sides. And yeah, not even really been a victim but sometimes we say things that just go wrong and can laugh at for being called out on it.

From the mod perspective, I don't think anyone has any self awareness really from all sides. So can agree with you on that point, but just wouldn't tag any group as the hero vs villain here. It's way more general. But they are in hamsterdamn so more free to talk

In terms of limit, the lines are really hard to draw. Even every mod may have a slightly different line. We do give warnings and it takes multiple offensives to get banned. Really I don't want to ban anyone tbh and in a perfect world would just let everyone go at it. That's kinda how it was. But yea, can see where there are issues when we sit back read the reports and can understand what some are saying who don't even have a say in things.

I commend the mods for finally stepping up. It was long overdue. I was involved in the shyt show. I speak from experience.

It is tough because so much is up to interpretation and everyone has a different view. This board is at its best when its a good mix of jokes, talking hoops and chaos mixed in. But def up to interpretation what that balance is. Think in general its the constant spamming and agenda trolling of the same things and over and over that pushed things over the edge. It did get worse. People got annoyed that every thread and discussion turned into the same thing and enough people complained about it.

well.. the worst is yet to come. "they" hated the KAT trade and player from the first second and then claimed they were right when he led us to our best season in 25 years while being named All Star and All NBA. Just imagine his play drops just a little bit

here's the thing. i don't hate kat - i like him. i also see his flaws and the difficulty we had fitting him in. a lot of that went on thibs, some of it rightfully, but i actually think the biggest reason (on offense) that he and jb didn't look like one would expect was josh hart. josh hart got like 60% of the touches from jb that kat should have, and even though he was determined to work as a middle man, the way defense played our scoring options when he was on the ball made that sort of a non starter

anyway i didn't mean to start analyzing the team in hamsterdam i'm just tryna say i don't share melo or sham's exact opinion of kat and his value
but, for example, i do share sham's view of mitch and melo's view of rj

Me agreeing with the mods and calling out the problems that everyone else had with the board is not hating chaos and, you're implying that I have a problem with jokes. Simply not true. FFS I was part of the chaos that was spawned by the trolling of board. I have since learned not to be a part of that BS. I was going through my own personal tragedy that admittedly found it's way in here in the form of aggression. I'm healing though. I can recognize my contribution to the problem.

I hope you don't sense any aggression in these replies. You're one of my favorite posters. I enjoy the point/counterpoint aspect of the board. The ball busting. Some of the chaos is fun too but, it was getting way out of hand and needed to be reeled in. I haven't seen any instances of over correcting but, if that's the case, it is to be expected with the shyt show this place was becoming. I think the mods did what was necessary honestly. Including a few of my bans. It was just getting a little one sided with the bans and the board really did suffer as a result of all of the beefs. It's a better place when some control is enforced.

Hats off to Cap for getting the ball rolling, while providing a space where we can go a little ham and not ruin the place while doing it. Win/win. I believe that's the reason we are where we are now. The board is probably losing post counts to an extent but, the quality of the posts are better. Perhaps that will inspire people to rejoin the discussion. We have already heard from a few posters that they are back as a result. I'm down with that. Just make sure to sprinkle some chaos in when you can bro.
