You would've had Ware + one Jovic or JJ, your cupboard wouldn't have been bare.
I like how Masai plays hardball, but at least he pulls the plug when needed

Jalen Green > anything on Miami’s roster not named Herro or Bam
#10 > #20
Brooks = Wiggins

Green is bad

Best way for Raptors to build....

-Through the draft
-Trade for young players who are not stars yet that we think maybe stars one day

We are in an era where Superstars who get traded now treated as free agents where they pick their destination of trade....Free agency is also a no go....

We can not bank on making a trade to be a championship team anymore...

I'd take Ware long term over Green tbh.

TBD. Currently my comment stands.

I know you'd like to assert that but I don't think it's actually true because I think the only reason why there's any "question" about it is simply that Ware just finished his rookie season but it's pretty damn obvious he's gonna be a really valuable player. He looks to be at minimum another Myles Turner type of player but he's about 3 inches taller and the Heat are also developing him so I'm all but certain he's going to become one of the more valuable players at his position.

Green on the otherhand is headed in the wrong direction...he SHOULD refine his game/shot selection more to be more like a skinny Antman but he seems so immature that he's becoming a lot more of a Jordan Poole type of player with athleticism and that's not a good thing when you think you're Edwards level but in reality you're more like Poole lol. If he's not red hot with his shooting, he's basically a negative since he offers nothing defensively.

If you ask around these forums and I'd guess NBA offices as well, I'd bet you Ware gets A LOT more positive reviews than Green and is likely valued more than him as well (ie/ MIA would've won the deal had they included him) , so no I'm not ready to concede that.

Rockets getting rid of jalen green is a win alone. They were better with him off the court last season

Why do some people think Jalen Green is good? He's been a low IQ, 54% TS scorer who can't pass or play defence for four seasons now. He hasn't shown one iota of improvement since being drafted. He's the definition of a bust.

Scottie's development has been frustrating to watch, but Green has been far worse.

One trade? no. But the Kawhi trade was the culmination of a 5-6 year journey. We are 18 months into this reset. It takes time to build the assets base and develop players. The raptors aren’t there yet…not even close.

Ware has more value to Miami because he’s on a rookie scale contract. I agree that he’s rated highly. I don’t know enough about ware to say he’s certain to end up better than green, but I understand your assessment of green. I don’t think ware would’ve been the sole hold up in a trade for KD though. Brooks is also better than most of the people on Miami, plus they got a top 10 pick and 5x seconds.

No need to concede - we can agree to disagree and I also understand your position. We agree more than we disagree generally speaking - especially since we’re both raps fans to begin with.
I believe in Masai.

I don't think we were a good fit for Durant. We need to be the Pistons of last year. Show improvement and defense first while steadily improving offense.

Barrett and 9th should get us a decent return. But I think both Barrett and the pick can improve here. RJ is in a career year and he might surge. I don't think teams care about expirings anymore, the deadline is free agency.

what can the suns offer free agents as a 2nd apron team? if i were them i would try and sign precious to fill one of their center slots. i dont see him getting any real offers just like last year.

Yeah i just don't think we can ever rely on a Kawhi esque trade to ever bail us out again....Unless NBA steps in to intervene....Star players on that level will have to have Raptors as a desired destination for us to get them players.

I agree though we should have patience and play the draft game and try and trade for up and coming players who we think will be on a level of a Shai/Hali one day with development...

Green has had stretches of dominance, especially offensively. He can get his own bucket. His shot selection and maturity are below average. However, he’s young enough and his athleticism is elite elite. The hope is that in a team dynamic where he isn’t the sole shot creator (we know Fred isn’t one) he can add value to a team. Scottie is the player virtually every team would choose over Jalen, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a good player.

Love Ware, ridiculously underappreciated.
I'd hate to be paying Green's NEXT contract. The dude is not a mature player.

Classic Riley, offer a steaming pile of crap.

Read on Twitter

According to a source with direct knowledge, the Heat not only declined to offer center Kel’el Ware, but also did not offer forward Nikola Jovic to Phoenix in final discussions between the teams before Suns shipped Durant to Houston on Sunday.

Also, the source said that Miami was never willing to offer more than one first-round pick.

The Heat’s final offer included Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, two bench players and the 20th pick in Wednesday’s NBA Draft. Haywood Highsmith and Jaime Jaquez Jr. were discussed as those two additional pieces in Miami’s offer, the source said.
