Did they? Brooks is 29, they didn’t want to pay Green, and their draft pick shouldn’t be a high pick. Fair trade IMHO.

They could have traded those assets for a good younger player is what I mean. It is a fair trade in terms of assets involved, I just dont like the Rockets doing this, feels like rushing the process.

They need more scoring and I’m not sure what good younger player they could get with that package that would be better. What team is trading a good young player who can help the Rockets score in the playoffs for that?

The average #10 pick isn't very good. Like obviously you could draft a great player at 10 but on average you're probably getting a solid rotation guy. That you have to wait 4 years until they even become that.

Out:
Ayton
the rights to Toumani Camara

In:
Keon Johnson (waived)
Nurkic (traded for Cody Martin and Vasilije Micić [rumored to be headed back overseas])
Little (expired, not re-signed)

So all they have to show for Ayton is Cody Martin.

Out:
Chris Paul
Landry Shamet
4 first round swaps
6 second rounders

In:
Beal and his retained NTC (dumb rule)
Goodwin (packaged with tons of other picks and players to get Royce O'Neal)
Isaiah Todd (traded)

Still have Beal and Royce.

Out:
Bridges
Cam Johnson
Crowder
4 first rounders and a swap

In:
KD (traded today for Green, Brooks, and #10 and 5 second rounders)
TJ Warren (expired, not re-signed)

We'll see what they do with #10 this week but have Green and Brooks, for now.

Bravo F’ing Oooooo

It is shocking how they fell so fast

No. The Rockets still have plenty of picks and young players to offer Milwaukee.

so the issue now is that the rockets dont have expendable contracts if they want giannis. sengun will have to be a part of it.

contending windows don't stay open forever. rockets have a good young team and making a move to try and level up is what more teams should try and do.

#10 pick sounds good until you realize this is your own pick that you ended up trading to the Nets for KD originally lol

Worst ownership in the league hands down.

Initial thoughts:

KD is still very good, even at 37 but we haven't seen him lead a team to a title. He'll have a better supporting cast at the Rockets.

Jalen I believe is a losing player, thus addition by subtraction.

Brooks is a glue guy that brings mental toughness. He's also a douche. Every team needs this type of player.

Historically, the 10th pick has been underwhelming.

GSP wrote:The first 2 pages are bizarre......some are acting like Phoenix won? Wtf

The fact Houston kept the Phoenix picks and didnt have to give up either of their 2 stars in Amen or Sengun and no Jalen isnt a star. And to that they also kept Jabari, Eason and Whitmore? **** Reed Sheppard?

Kd will be 37 but hes still a top 10, top 15 level player. Ppl will point to Phoenix record last year and say Kds numbers arent impactful anymore when they were 3-17 when Kd was out............that means they actually had a winning record when he played. Suns roster was one of the worst in the Nba last season.

For fit Houston is one of the premier defenses and the best offensive rebounding team. Complete opposite of Phoenix who were one of the absolute worst defenses and rebounding teams. Suns also had 1 of the worst center rotations in Nba of the 2 seasons. Rockets have a rotation of Sengun, Adams, Landale.......you can argue Landale is as good as any Suns center after they traded Ayton. Theyve had washed Nurk, Nick Ricards who was the 3rd string in **** Charlotte, Mason "hes still in the league?" Plumlee who was giving historic nights to opposing centers all season Jokic had the 30,20,20 on him and that rookie they got Oso........that is one of the sorriest rotations youll see.

Rockets are tough, athletic, defense and rebounding oriented all things that fit like a glove around Kd. They just went 7 w/ Jimmy era Golden State who were on a complete tear w/ him and that was w/ trash ass Jalen Green who is good for 1 great game every 8 games kid stinks. Brooks is a good role player but they already have elite athletic perimeter defenders in Amen and Eason.

Terrific comment! You hit the nail on the head. I think the Rockets roster rivals the Thunder in terms of young talent. And KD, FVV and Adams are the perfect compliments. I can't think of any reason not to expect them to be in the running for the title next season. I mean they were the were the 2 seed this year one season after finishing out of the Play In. Plus, Ime is the best coach in the league.

It’s too bad the Nuggets and Suns couldn’t make a deal.

Jokic
AG
KD
CB
Murray

Would have been a hell of a starting lineup

That's the true price of superstar. Let's not read too much on Bane's trade. This trade is even more awful than the Luka trade. Pheonix takes on Green and get Houston better firsts in foreseeable future.

Houston fleeced the Suns. The Suns should of at least got Eason back, he's a guy that they could of been a nice fit with Booker, not even Jabari they got back smh Green does not fit there, so now they gotta find another trade. They didn't really get any pieces that can help them, the 10th pick is ok but thats their own 1st pick anyway lol and Dillon Brooks is ok a guess. Still have a lot of holes on that roster

Considering none of Thompson, Sengun or Giannis can shoot, Sengun was always going to have to be part of a Giannis offer. There’s no way the three of them could co-exist offensively.
