Houston had a great season and blew it up for an old man.

Do not believe a word this weirdo says. He and Phoenix media has had a vendetta against KD all season while praising Beal. He swore they were going to get back one of Eason or Whitmore and more 1sts.

This seems like a lose lose trade. Don't like it for either.

Looking at the Suns roster they have all wings and no centers or point guards.

Bookers Beal and Green is also a disaster waiting to happpend fit wise.

They need find trade for Green right now.

I suppose Houston wins on paper but I have a feeling it doesn’t work out in a practical application.

I mean, Shams is the Suns mouthpiece, this guy's a weirdo...

It may have been the case that those names were sought. Trades are fluid until done. At some point I saw a Suns podcast and the two guys basically said prepare to be disappointed.

I've seen versions of Spurs not wanting to give up significant pieces, but no offer is surprising. We'll never know the truth beyond this offer being beatable if some teams (us included) really wanted KD.

Houston way overspent for a guy who turns 37 before the season starts. Phoenix is definitely the long-term winner.

But that's largely due to non-KD things , which is probably why it was good to trade for KD while his value was low.

The 2021 nets probably win the title if KDs 2 best teammates don't get hurt. The 2022 nets were the 1 seed without Kyrie until the Kyrie drama blew everything up.

Anyone who thought booker and Beal was a good actual set of teammates was overrating phoenix's chances, but even this year the suns were 33-29 with KD and an amazing 3-17 without him.

I’m not sure either team won. KD is entering year 18 and added two more leg injuries to his portfolio last season.

The Suns didn’t get a top-5 asset from Houston. Time will tell.

Honestly a pretty fair deal for both teams imo.

A lot of those trade proposals where GM’s thought KD was gonna bring back multiple firsts and young guys not looking so accurate anymore.

If Phoenix had received Jabari Smith instead of Green i would have liked the trade for them. I dont get Green with Booker and Beal. I dont even get Green with Booker if they were to magically trade Beal. As it stands i like it better for Houston.

MavsDirk, this is random, but what do you think about a Trae Young and Devin Booker pairing? The glaring issue would be defense but otherwise.....?

the suns side of this is just about collecting assets. whether people like him or not dillon brooks is a positive asset, and his playstyle is portable. everything the suns got other than jalen is just positive value assets. and jalen is probably the only piece the rockets were willing to part with for salary matching.

coming out of this, HOU is pretty much set as far as what their team will look like next opening day. FVV option to figure out but everything else seems like it is as they want it.

on the suns side, they needed to get this KD thing out of the way to start their real offseason, i expect they might turn over a ton of the remaining roster by the time we next see them on the court. but good on them getting positive value and getting the distraction of it all over with quickly. coulda easily turned into a long drawn out divorce. and i think avoiding that is a nice unquantifiable bit of positive value for the organization too.

Supposedly he's staying. And that's a problem since moving him for additional assets is the only play that makes sense. Brooks should also be moved for more pieces.
