The Lakers at least got to play injured version in 20.

Pacers have been playing at this level since January tho its been a long sample that ppl were ignoring or not paying attention to. Miami didnt show at any point in the Rs they were capable of that playoff run they just had historically hot shooting luck

This is true, but the counterpoint is that the Heat had had a very similar roster the prior year and had been the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference and had come incredibly close to making the Finals (losing game 7 of the ECF by 4 points). They may not have shown in the 2023 RS that they were capable of that playoff run, but the prior year certainly indicated they were. I wouldn’t say that that’s as relevant as the Pacers having played really well specifically leading into those playoffs, but I don’t think we can say it was completely out of character for those Heat to be really good.

That’s so not fair. Heartbreaking is an understatement.

If the Pacers find a way to pull this out it really will be the greatest Cinderella story in NBA history.

Yeah, Pacers could definitely win. Haliburton may be their best player, but they really aren’t dependent on any one player and they’ve got good guard backups, so Haliburton being out doesn’t hurt them as much as a star going out normally would. It’s also just Game 7, so you never know what players are going to fold with nerves.

They just need to win a half of basketball. On paper OKC should handle it, but OKC hasn't played up to their regular season level this postseason. They've ended up in that 2015-2016 Warriors box of not quite being the same team in the postseason.

Hoping we win but also knowing no one is going to give us props if we do.

Is this what warrior fans felt during 2015?

I know this is an uncomfortable thought for many, but a modern and more talented Jordan seeing their team fall off in the playoffs this way carries implications for the era-portability of the original article.
Now that's the difference between first and last place.

SGA being more talented than Jordan is nonsensical

Shame Haliburton got injured

The East next year is so wide open with these injuries

Shai making his hero Kobe proud with his FG % in a finals close out game (in all seriousness his playmaking was insane this game)

Scoring efficiency wasn’t there but loved this performance from Shai

Only thing they had going offensively for a good bit

What a year
