Also I gotta dig up the post but I’m on record calling him the closest thing to Kobe since Kobe almost two years ago. Obviously still has a long way to go reach legend status but this is a damn good start.

Figured I’d take a small victory lap in a postseason where I missed the mark on a number of predictions…

Yes he is. He earned that title this season. Winning one for OKC. The process played out.

Based on what? KD was a playoffs choker who could never lead a team to a title.

Having more skill and being better at shooting =/= more dominant or effective player in the 5 on 5 setting.

He seems like a humble guy too which is refreshing. Hard to not cheer for the guy.

He isn't the icon or beloved figure that Kobe was but he truly is this eras Kobe. Even stole most of his moves. Old school game.

So I imagine you then would think the great GSW side would blow out this OKC side in a one sided sweep then?

Given that Durant has never got it done elsewhere (despite being clearly better than the NBA & Finals MVP of this season) and the only side he did get it done was at Curry's GSW where he was their 2nd or 3rd best player?

No **** way. SGA clearly a much better leader.

I don't disagree there... but on pure basketball talent, I'll take prime KD over SGA.

But the OP said greatest …not most talented.

He is better than KD. Even in this series he impacted the game in ways KD never could when he was with the Thunder. Just look at game 4 at how clutch he was in the final 4 minutes in that game where I believe he scored 15 points. Thunder should have lost that game but he decided to take over when it mattered. That is something I never saw KD do in OKC when the Thunder melted under pressure he would also follow. I saw that a lot especially in his last series with them against the Warriors. They were moments in that series where I felt he didn't step up when necessary and that played a huge role in why they lost to the Warriors in '16.

SGA is also a better all around players. His defense at his position is much better than KD. He also is a great playmaker unlike KD. For example in tonight's game he shot piss poor but had 12 assists and only 1 turnover. KD when he couldn't score had no other way of impacting the game like SGA can when he's not scoring.

If KD went 8 from 27 in a game they would lose that game by 20 easily.
Thunder defense is GOAT defense(it shouldnt be if they refed it correctly but with this whistle it is) and defense carried them to to championship.

But yea, now with accolades we have to agree its SGA 100%.

Exactly.

Presti put a bunch of junk bench players and shooters around KD.

Unlike SGA, KD had zero luck in OKC either.

They'd lose because KD is turning it over 5 times with his crap shooting, and Shai is going for 12 assists with only 1 turnover.
