No More Bubble Gum Champion Talk - Alex Caruso now has a real ring

Post#1 » by ImmortalD24 » Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:28 am

"Now I got a real one" - Alex Caruso

Implies the bubble "hardest ring ever outside of the Cleveland ring" (according to LeBron) doesn't count.

The full comment was something along the lines of "I got a real ring, no one can say anything". The comment was more about people like you, no offence, always complaining about the bubble championship being worthless than implying the bubble championship ring being worthless.

Impressive how OP did exactly what Caruso implied is stupid, thinking Caruso has his back, the lack of awareness in this thread making is astonishing.

But speaking about Bubble championship, it definitely is a real championship, tho I personally disagree with Lebron that is hardest or ''purest'' championship. I have no doubt that in a lot of ways it was hardest, it sucked to be isolated in a bubble. But in a big way, I feel it was so hard for these guys, that a lot of those teams weren't that upset when they were eliminated, I do not believe they fought as hard to extend their season as it would any other way, I bet a lot of guys were just happy to get out of there and thats it, and in that sense it was easier championship. Props to Lakers for enduring that environment and not giving up, but I do not think it is hardest championship from basketball perspective. Outside the court I agree it was hard, but thats not the point IMO, when guys needed to flight regular airline or even drive busses to other state back in the day, that was harder too, But I don't really care for if Cousy comes out and gives his ''I had to walk 10 miles to school'' talk, yeah, we already know it was hard...

Yes its now clear Caruso was the one who carried Lebron to a championship.

Btw this ring is anything but untainted. OKC got by far the best whistle of any team and their opposing team just lost their MVP in the game 7. Major * ring

Agreed. It also shows the uniqueness of every championship and the circumstances that lead to it.

Embiid said it best in 2020: "If we win it, it might be the toughest based on the conditions, and we intend to do our best to do so,” Embiid said. “If we don’t win it, then to me this would be a glorified summer league.”

That's basically how many fans felt. But was the bubble ring really that much easier than going up against the great McConnell, Nemhard and Siakam in game 7 on your home floor? Probably not.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

True statement.

More like Major L to you and other OKC skeptics.

Hahaha, nice…drink up AC.

I’m in a weird camp where I don’t consider it a “real ring,” as it was apples and burritos, but not going to deride any player that won it that year either. It was the greatest men’s league of all time that has ever been played, or probably ever will be played on this planet. Just didn’t feel like the NBA playoffs without a single road game or pressure packed fan induced frenzy to be seen.

Lakers made the most of it, and that’s all they could do. What else could anyone expect out of anyone in that situation?

You could put an asterisk on just about every championship in history, including OKC's considering what happened to Haliburton.

OP knows he is joking, but the narrative is still created by clamining he actually said this seriously. This is the internet nowadays. It's all BS to generate clicks and comments. Also, hate.
