Incorrect, Thibs had them excelling with a weak roster.

Yep. We exceeded expectations with a very flawed roster. Thibs was amazing.

You're not wrong.

Neither is Kampuchea

But to take us to the next step, we need to incorporate some modern stuff. The talent on this team was good enough to get to the ECF.

This was a really good season when you think about it. We saw what the strengths and weaknesses are of everything that comprises the NY Knicks. We have skilled players that need to play in a system that maximizes their talent.

We can do better. That's always the focus

Who did more to get Thibs fired, Randle or Brunson?

Leon Rose.

He had to cover his ass for that shallow roster that he left this team depleted for.

I'm curious - for those of you who think Thibs is amazing - did you play organized basketball?

You'd have to ask the years because the image of Thibs is what coaches used to be like.

Shallow roster? Depleted? We were the healthiest team in the playoffs and Thibs ran 7.5 guys through the first 16 games before he even tried to use his bench...for one game.

Thibs got Thibs fired because he's a relic of a bygone era and has no clue how to coach in today's NBA. We weren't depleted. We were out coached by Carlisle and took an L in a series we should have won.

He had the 4th most wins in franchise history coaching weak rosters, he deserved better than this.

He's making 30 million to chill at home.

Players were done. More often than not we weren't sure what team was showing up. Happened far too often in the playoffs, this team at times looked like they never played with one another. Break ups are hard, I know.

Neither, because both like playing the game he coaches.

Bridges is the one that got Thibs fired.

I was waiting for the day Brunson was as hated as Randle and now it’s here. Bless you my son.

I continue to say:

Thibs will get players accolades but NEVER get a franchise a championship.

From Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler, to Julius Randle and now Brunson/KAT, he put the chance at a team trophy on the back burner in favor of fostering iso All-Stars. Think about what he could have done with Obi if he hadn't focused so much on Julius. Could letting guys like Precious and Kolek have helped us win this year. We'll never know because that stubborn @$$hat had the reigns.

Good riddance!

not this again.

you saw waht obi did without haliburton?

obi is a scrub. The only thing he does well is sprinting on a fast break. you can find that type of player in every draft. good for him he found a team that wants him to do that and only do that. we were not playing at an indiana pace, so it didnt make sense at all to keep him
im bout dat action boss

This team had no business losing to Indiana. We had everything necessary to beat them except a good coach.

He threw away serviceable players and draft picks over the years and then threw away our moment to win a championship.

Good riddance. Trashcan outdated coach with padded win%.

Who was on the bench again? Pretty much no game changers. Knicks had to hope that rookies suddenly broke out when they take time to develop.

Everyone and their mom knew that going into this season the Knicks were shallow and lacked the depth to beat Boston. The KAT trade guaranteed that and the Bridges trade guaranteed that they have no future.

The team is in WIN NOW mode, so firing a coach who over achieved and got to the conference finals without a better option is just mind blowing. Not saying he's perfect or amazing, he's got flaws, but he was solid and best coach since JVG.

We'll see what the Knicks end up doing and how it works out, but they don't really have the financial flexibility to fix the roster without making another big trade and getting pennies on the dollar and downgrading the roster.

12 healthy bodies. When he finally used more than TWO of them, it helped him win a game. He HAD TO use them because of foul trouble. He never used them again and we lost the series. He's out of a job. It's kinda obvious why.
