Sac/Miami/Dallas - another two versions
Or like 5 versions I guess cause I want to do one with Miami getting Monk and PJ and paying more..? oh well. Probably should be two different threads, but just making it sloppy.
Dallas: PJ, Martin, Powell
Dallas: Demar and 20
Dallas gets their offensive stopgap and a late first to draft one of the guards. Would need to trade Hardy and future seconds for true vet mins to fill bench under second apron. But that’s fine.
Miami: Terry, JJJ, and 20
Miami: Monk and Martin
Miami gets a younger/cheaper/better player that probably fits how they hoped Terry would fit? And Martin reunion is nice.
Sacramento: Monk and Demar
Sacramento: PJ, Terry, Powell, and JJJ
Sacramento gets two good fits in PJ/JJJ and goes shopping with Terry’s expiring and assets for a true point guard to finish balancing the roster.
Or because I’m a Dallas fan that doesn’t really want Demar..
Dallas: PJ and Naji
Dallas: Monk, 42, and 1-2 future seconds
Dallas gets the younger/cheaper good fitting guard.
Sacramento: Monk, Demar, 42, and 1-2 future seconds
Sacramento: PJ, Naji, Terry, 20
Sacramento gets two good fitting pieces in PJ/Naji and goes shopping with Terry’s expiring and assets for a true point guard to finish balancing the roster.
Miami: Rozier and 20
Miami: Demar
Miami gets the old vet that some think they are interested in to help run their offense while they wait for a bigger fish or a retool.

Re: Sac/Miami/Dallas - another two versions
Both seem reasonable enough, but I know DD is a very divisive player that we will have fans of Miami and Dallas both complaining about lol. Agree the 2nd one seems better for the Kings. I think they would rather have Knife/20 than Powell/JJ/42/future 2nd. But maybe they are willing to overlook last year on JJ?

I don't like either of these trades for Miami. Like, at all!

DOnt see how Sac can get off of DDR and get JJJ and PJ. Demar is not the guy for Dallas, old, cant defend, cant shoot a 3

Re: Sac/Miami/Dallas - another two versions
also durable, can create a shot(a skill badly lacking in Dallas right now where Marshall and Williams are the best you have. Think about that statement), draw fouls, draws doubles, is a secondary playmaker.
This board is so bad about either loving a player and only looking at positives or hating a player and only looking at negatives. Yes, he's flawed. If he was a 26 year old elite shooter and defender with all his other skills, he'd be making double the money and you couldn't get him for cheap, you couldn't get him at all.

There you go. How a scrub like DeRozan has scored over 25000 points in the NBA is mind boggling.

He's a box score whore. His scoring has never carried his team to peak places. Making noise in the East isnt anythign to write home about, and proof ahs shown that was more Lowry and Siakam anyways. Sac doesnt egt to steal value like this because you want them to

I didn’t even comment on the deal. What defines a box score whore? Does Derozans points count differently in your mind? I could see if he was putting up points and shooting 40% from the floor, or the fact that he’s a liability on the defensive end. But offensively he’s a beast and has been his whole career, and up to this point has shown no signs of slowing down.

This is bad for the kings. The deal should be either demar for marshall and Pj if Dallas wants demar over monk. If they want monk it's monk for PJ straight up as has been discussed over and over. As far Miami goes I think it's demar for Wiggins and 20. Or robinson jjj and 20. Keep your rozier drama away from the kings.

Re: Sac/Miami/Dallas - another two versions
I guess I need to revisit this as apparently Bam wants to play with Monk. I guess, to appease him, I'd do the first deal. Just not crazy about it as he doesn't really add shooting based on last year's numbers. Maybe he'd do better with Bam, Herro, Wiggins, and Ware.
But not DeRozan. I see no need for him.

Re: Sac/Miami/Dallas - another two versions
I'm fine with Monk/Caleb, they really should try to turn Terry's expiring into rotation players.
Moving Terry, #20, JJJ is totally fine with me, don't think any of these will help them win games or help get a real difference maker. JJJ could have a bounce back year, but wouldn't change all that much either.

Yeah, Monk isn't the third option on this team. It'd be between him and Wiggins on a night to night basis. It would just give us one more guy - another scoring option—four guys who can put in 20 on any given night. Caleb would be nice to have back.
Pg: Herro / Mitchell / Smith
Sg: Monk / Highsmith / Larrson
Sf: Wiggins / Martin / Burks
Pf: Bam / Jovic / Anderson
C: Ware /

What about something like Rozier/JJJ/20 for Monk and Trey Lyles?

Lyles is a free agent but Miami could probably sign him after the deal assuming Sac takes that for Monk. Doubt he costs much.

I don't actually care about Lyles. I was just trying to make a trade work. He was filler.
