Honestly overblown I think, it's being taken for granted "Hornets culture" gets Kon drafted here but the point being overlooked's Tidjane also had exceptional measurables on top of the intangibles that supposedly got JPete hooked.

Still think they'd pick Ace over Kon in spite of everything.

And no way they pick Maluach after passing up Clingan and Edey.

Ace Bailey on the Hornets would go just the way everyone thinks it would go

Y'all want Jalen Green for Bridges/Green?

No thanks. Green is too expensive, undersized and not the impact player his PPG tease. There is a reason Houston dealt him in that package.

As to the draft discussion, I’m ready to pick either VJ or Ace at 4, whomever is there. If it’s VJ, ideal for us. If it’s Ace, I take him or consider a massively good trade down package with either the Jazz, Wiz, Pels or Nets. At minimum these offers would start a conversation for me:
Jazz want Ace or Fears, afraid Wiz will get their target? Give us the 5 & 21, we will give you 4 and 34, and wouldn’t mind swapping Miles for Collins while we’re at it, but not critical. Wizards? Gotta give us 6 & 18, you’ll get 4 plus 33 (maybe both seconds). Pelicans gotta talk about a player swap that help us, plus 7 & 23. Nets would need to give up a lot, maybe involve players like Claxton.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Eh, same thing was said about Lamelo, but injuries and shot selection aside, he is still one of the most talented players this franchise ever drafted.

There's a big different between risking it in guys like Lamelo and Ace vs risking it in Kai and Salaun

We did not lose 124 games of basketball across two seasons to end up with Tidjane Salaun and Kon Knueppel. This has to be some sick practical joke.

I have zero clue why everyone thinks this kid will be a star. He doesn’t have anyone to guard in the NBA and his only real skill is spot up shooting.

It’s a disgusting pick at #4 if so. Knueppel is a #13 overall type of player we’d be taking 10 spots too high.

Taking Kon at #4 seems like it would be a massive over correction from Salaun pick that signals a lack of understanding of why Salaun was probably a bad pick. I could see them thinking that they took a risky upside swing on Salaun and it isn't working out so they need to take a super safe pick to balance it out. The problem is that Salaun never actually had upside and was just a bad pick.

I'm not super confident about my opinion of Kon, so maybe I'm just way off, but picking him at #4 will have me doom spiraling about this front office.

That's the sad thing; I've seen no argument calling him a star except one crazy take saying he is Luka.

People that want him are totally fine taking a smaller Joe Ingles at 4.

I can't speak for plow but I would assume his thought process there is he projects kon to be a better on ball Creator better passer, better Defender, better pick, better in the paint and roll initiator.

Taking him fourth your banking on him deciding to put effort into defending. Getting stronger and improving the handle enough to get more room attempts and more free throw attempts.

Tres upside, if he figuresit out, is higher simply because his off dribble shooting is much better.

Unrelated to richardson, but I have heard so many draft analysts this cycle talk about how smaller guards are becoming less and less favorable to front offices. It's usually in the context of why that analyst has fears ranked outside of the top 10.

Tre has potential to be the best shooter in the NBA, who can also have the ball and get to his own spots like Booker or GSW Klay. Pretty much every pre draft criticism of Tre was said about both Booker and Klay. Klay was considered too slow and unathletic to guard in the NBA

Strength of Giannis. Mind of Stockton. Hands of Payton. Shot of Klay.

The ultimate basketball lifeforms, Kon Knupple.

its seemingly impossible to have an actual konversation about kon on here anymore, unfortunately.
