There's a significant discrepancy between how Raptors fans and the rest of the league perceive Brandon Ingram's trade value.

Is there?

I think a lot of posters a) didn't want him but b) realized that a late 1st rounder was a decent value add for someone of Ingrams skill.

Nobody here is expecting Kawhi Leonard from Ingram. In fact, I overwhelmingly see mostly pessimism surrounding Ingram on this board.

First off, I like the Ingram addition. But this "Pick Watch" has a massive chance of getting toxic. Especially when you consider he'll be out for the year most likely.

I hope you're ready, Duff.

Weird trade for the Pelicans to make weeks before the draft while Indy is still playing. What's the rush?

I think the Pacers will still be good though.

Didn't he tear his Achilles? That's about 8-10 months of recovery time.

I'm calling it now, you're gonna have a tough year with the tanking crowd, particularly with Ingram's injury concerns.

What I've observed, especially in the media, is a shift in how Brandon Ingram is discussed. Despite never having played for the Raptors, he went from being a buy-low candidate in February to Toronto's halfcourt scoring salvation by April. Seeing Grange say the front office expects to challenge for the Conference Finals will only raise those expectations.

Ah maybe fair. I guess the media has to hype up the offseason acquisition.

like the raptors after they lost kawhi, the pacers will still be a good team next season. 5-8 range. helps that pg might be thier deepest position.

Pacers were .500 last 2 seasons without Haliburton. They have decent depth so I wouldn't expect a total disaster next season from them.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

They were already in a position where they had to make cap decisions before the injury. And now you're not in a position to lose any other important piece to injury for most of next season on top of it.

Things can spiral quickly in those situations. The Thunder we're in a position to absorb Chet's injury due to adding core pieces in IHart/Caruso. The Pacers will be subtracting this offseason.
