Indy might be in for a cap crunch but we're not exactly in a dissimilar position

Even in some Toppin + Walker for RJ +...I dunno, 2026 first? We'd still have to figure out Ochai and Dick's extensions sooner than you might expect.

I like Walker he's one those "could breakout if given opportunity has the talent" type candidates which is one of the only ways to get good players/future stars besides high in the draft.

If we can get him for an RJ package 100% call indy now.

He's also one of the most valuable player archetypes atleast in theory

- long wing/big, versatile/switchable, 3PT shooting, plus defense, untapped potential, good pedigree, dominated G-league, needs mins

just as an fyi, per sportsnet, yak's maximum extension is the following:

he makes $19.5 mil in 25/26.

option 1: opt into the 26/27 season for $19.5 mil

his max extension would be for 3 years (27/28 - 29/30 seasons) $88.2 mil so a total of 4 years $107.7 mil ($26.9 mil AAV)

option 2: opt out after next season

his max extension would be 4 years (26/7 to 29/30 season) $121.8 mil ($30.5 mil AAV)
