This team isn't getting better until it parts with Herro or Bam. I vote Herro. The other players on this team are not going to fetch much.

They are not going to get much for Herro he’s basically worth more to us than what the market is going to dictate. Jalen Green who makes the same amount as Herro and is two years younger was just tossed out as a throw in for Durant. He was a starter all year for the 2 seeded Rockets. He sucked in the playoffs but so did Herro lol. Not many teams in need for one way scoring two guard help that have extensions on the horizon or saddled on 30 mil plus contracts already.

We should try to dump him to the pelicans like you’ve mentioned for CJ and 2 1sts

We should be reaching out to the Pistons, Pacers, Magic, Cavs, and even Celtics out East to see if they want Bam to boost their chances of coming out of the East. Each team can out good packages together, especially the Pistons, Pacers, and Magic

If the franchise believes so much in it’s young core this is far from anything close to what they are thinking. Delusional as it may be

This is probably the one trade out there that makes sense if talking soft reboot. I just don’t think Riley will do it. He’s become soft and too attached at his old age. Probably views Herro like his grandson. Herro was making him Margaritas at family day.

I'm shifting my focus to Trae Young. Fills 2 holes that we need. If you're able to get Trae Young then Wiggins is solid for us at the 3 or even Jagsmith starting at the would be fine.

Kind of. He also recklessly put out a bunch of "half-true" trade packages and framed them as "real offers" allowing every nba aggregator to run with them when that wasn't reality. Unless we are to believe that PHX opted against the rumored packages put forth by Toronto and Minnesota in favor of the Rockets offer.

To be fair KD did torpedo any chance at Minnesota happing. I don’t remember the Raptors offer but it all depends on how they view Green and remember Brooks is an expiring as well as the 10th pick.

It was pretty clearly an ambiguous half-truth to pump up value perception. The Raptors "offer" put out there by Gambo and then repeated throughout the NBA mediasphere was Poetl, Barrett/Quickley and pick #9. Now, maybe there was discussion about that package in a scenario where KD would agree to extend with TOR. But, that's not how Gambo qualified it. And Gambo is pretty clearly active enough on twitter to see ALL of the tweets mentioning him as a source and he didn't bother to correct or qualify any of it.

Draft capital and a shot at a 2026 top 5 pick sounds enticing to me.

You can shift all you want but the Hawks are not going to deal Young to there interdivision rival. They will take us to the woodshed asking for an overpay. What would we trade for him? Herro is due an extension just like Young and at that point they’re better off paying there fan favorite. Hawks have to win as the Spurs own there pick.

Shams said yesterday that the final two for Durant were Houston and Miami.

Gambo now saying Miami “never had a chance”.

Then how were they in the final two and were deep in trade talks according to Shams?

Well it was better than what we offered but we were basically told what was needed to get the deal done, we just didn’t do it.

I'm thinking next free agency. My gut is telling me he's not extending there.
